Used to be and is still often referred to by its previous name “DFO”. Unusual for Australians (a nationality noted for abbreviating the names of everything) it doesn’t often get referred to by its new acronym possibly not surprising. Might have rated this ‘average’ in the past but the opening of the Lindt store late last year and the consequential opportunity to now try a huge range of Lindt Balls, some of which I’d never even conceived of, lifts it that one extra level. Yes there’s free parking and while it fills up on weekends, there are generally still plenty of spots if you’re willing to park some distance from the entrances to the shops, which most of the Centre’s customers seem reluctant to do. The food hallis somewhat limited offering around 5-6 options but the shopping is certainly cheaper than in the main malls across the city.

See possums, wallabies, and lizards.
It took me a while to work out just how well thought out this place is. There are a number of wildlife hides overlooking various swamps/pools (depending on the weather) on the flood plain alongside Jerrabomberra Creek, near where it flows into Lake Burley Griffin. The most amazing thing is that so many animals frequent a place next to the Monaro Highway, with a view of Parliament House. You may or may not have a hide to yourself, so obey the wildlife (mainly bird) watching etiquette by keeping quiet and moving slowly, and hope others do the same for you. The walks take you around the shorelines of the pools, and provide access to the creek itself. The pools and hides are good for birds - mainly purple moorhens and Pacific black ducks, but also cormorants, darters, swans, the occasional pelican, and straw-necked ibises at the right time of year. Also seasonal are flocks of swifts flying in close formation in and out of the tall grass. If you get down to the creek as well, you ramp up the wildlife dial by adding mammals - water rats and sometimes platypus. You're lucky to just get a look at the platypus, but the water rats are a bit bolder, and you can watch them busily building or maintaining nests. Sunset's better than the middle of the day. I've always meant to come at dawn, that that always seems early when one gets down to it.
You can approach from the Kingston side, or drive up Dairy Flat Road and park. You can also walk or cycle along the shoreline track - it's not even that long a walk from the restaurant strip at Kingston Foreshore, also the walk through the ageing suburb and new construction between the Foreshore and the Reserve is not that attractive. Winter's cold and Summer has mosquitoes, so come prepared and you'll enjoy it more.

I love this place. If you are a seasoned climber this gym has great training facilities including an LED moonboard and gym section. They also offer some quite difficult bouldering.
If you are a beginner this gym is the perfect introduction to climbing, no need for ropes because you never have to climb that high and heaps of beginner problems that get progressively harder to really challenge yourself.
The staff are super friendly and they also have a small cafe to keep you going, if you are anything like me you will need a snack as you'll never want to leave!

Come and enjoy our American style themed indoor mini golf centre and experience our Lost Jungle, Pharaoh's Tomb, and the Dragon's Lair all in the one 18 hole course. We're fully indoors and air conditioned... The perfect outing for all weather conditions! Our course is packed with props and features to entertain the family. Enjoy our challenging holes with interesting surprises...
Given the very hot weather currently being experienced in Canberra, indoor attractions seem a good option. And we quite enjoyed Minigolf King over at the Canberra Outlet Centre in Fyshwick. My late tween and early teen found it challenging enough (although both are complete mini golf novices!) and it was fairly quiet so we weren't feeling pressured to get around the course. That said, the whole course took well under an hour to complete and cost the three of us $35, so it is not an activity I would regularly undertake.

We don’t just sell bikes, we also hire them. Meaning you can test ride the latest and greatest Specialized machines – without a doubt the best Canberra bike hire on offer. Take out one of our road or mountain bikes for a day, weekend or month if you like.
I called in on spec to hire an MTB as I was in the area for a few weeks and wanted to get out and explore. Stuart was very helpful and had a bike prepared and fitted to my size ready for the weekend. He recommended several local MTB areas and the whole experience was just very welcoming.

Went along to one of the regular educational and fun days at the City Farm Open Day. There was plenty of different activities across the farm.
- Farm Tours
There were some demonstrations and talks covering:
- solar cookers and ovens
- beekeeping.
The mud pizza over was operational and very impressive , as were the scones and teas.
I'd never heard of this place before so was very pleased to stumble onto it.

Lollipops Playland & Cafe is Canberra's biggest and best indoor play centre and kids party venue in the ACT. We continue to give you the ultimate experience whether for a casual visit, a children's party or for an after-hours private event. We are family focused playland with friendly staff, focused on developing healthy kids through play and interaction. We look forward to seeing you soon!
The kids had a ball but where is the play equipment?
Compared to many other similar centres this one has minimal equipment. 2 slides and a ball pit plus a little tiny tots area. There was a teapot merry go round but staff didn't want to turn it on. (Go ask that guy over there... Umm???)
We tried to have lunch but the bread was old and inedible, they happily exchanged it for something else.

Monkey Mania are Australia's favourite Indoor Children's Play Centre's with locations across NSW , ACT & VIC. Monkey Mania has ideal play equipment for ages 1-12. Monkey Mania Fyshwick includes inflatable jumping Castles, a dedicated toddlers area, a gun/cannon foam ball arena, climbing structure, slides and a "spider web" to climb. As well as having the added benefits of a cafe and parking.
This place is so overpriced and just so average. I come here regularly with a disabled client (families request) and they have just decided suddenly they won't honour his companion card anymore.
Kid City is much better value and they don't charge adults to just sit around, I would definitely recommend checking them out instead.
