They've built an historical village using significant buildings from the region. Many can be entered to see displays, plus there's an exhibit on the Italian immigrants who have been a huge part of Griffith. Good feedback on the signage and exhibits, I will pass it on to our Curator (unfortunately she only works part time). Cheers

Hermits Cave

Believe the reviews that talk about some difficult ground and barely-visible sections of pathway. It's not exactly all Wilderness along the kilometre plus, but there isn't a groomed and gentle pathway for people with inappropriate shoes or mobility issues. And be careful in the wet: there are limestone outcrops that could get very slippery.
But if you can work with the terrain, this is a respectful tribute to Signor Ricetti that's worth your time. Signposts tell his story briefly and much of his stonework is still intact, including his acommodation and his chapel. His Gardens have gone, as have the fields to the east that he would have looked over, but there's still much to reflect on. Griffith should be congratulated for preserving the site.

The family present a professional wine tasting experience complete with crackers and olives - such a nice ouch. Many of the wines were too drinkable. A good range at a variety of prices. No bargains but very tempting.

Lake Wyangan

Reviewed By Nodswollef - Wodonga, Australia

We had heard of Lake Wyangan so decided to go for a look around. What a pleasant surprise. Beautifully presented, a large expanse of water with very pleasant surrounds. Of special interest is the large number of very well constructed BBQ rotunders, built by various community groups, for free use by the public/visitors. How very Italian this is. Congrats to all of those involved in making this a great place to visit. There is also free camping on the lake, but the sites are mostly on a slope, which makes it a bit difficult to set up a camp or caravan.

Simon was a wealth of knowledge about the local Griffith region. He picked my 2 friends who drove from the South Coast and myself and drove us to the most amazing wineries. Cocoparra National Park

Reviewed By Fergus_Bam - Griffith, Australia

One of the only high features visible from Griffith (apart from 'the hill') is Cocaparra. The national park is located less than half an hours drive from town.
It consists of camp grounds, a lookout, numerous walking tracks and a water fall (weather or lack of it permitting).
Winter is a great time to explore the park and its many walks. During the summer months this might be best left to the wildlife.
The campground has a covered shelter and some bbqs, located near the toilets. The campground is quite flat and easily accessible except after heavy rain.
The lookout is great. You have uninterrupted views to the north and south and you can walk along the ridgeline and experience the natural surrounds. Good walking shoes are recommended.

Stumbled upon this gem of a Museum in Griffith's main Street, Banna Ave, during the Town's Centenary Celebrations Aug 2016.
Displays and artefacts from all Australian Military Services and campaigns.
There are even Military uniforms, accessories and helmets that kids can try on as a great Educational experience.
Would thoroughly recommend for all ages visiting the Griffith Area.
Open Thr, Fri and Sat for any small donation as entry fee.
