Great food, excellent service, cozy atmosphere. Every time I'm in this area I stop by for some lunch or dinner! Definitely a place to recommend!

The colleague who invited us to La Cabana has lived in Argentina for a while and knows his way around a good Argentinian steak. He said it was the best on Cologne area.
The restaurant is run by an Argentinian family and the interior of the place seems to feature a lot of original Argentinian elements.
The selection of steaks is really impressive (there are at least 4 steak types which you could have in different sizes - mine was 300 grams). And the prices are rather reasonable for this quality of meat.
The meat is excellent (and supposedly imported from Argentina) and well grilled.
We also had delicious sausages and salad with palm tree stems.

Just off the main street (the tram route) opposite the church is a typical Italian restaurant. Good food and wine. Friendly service with us communicating in a strange mixture of Italian, German and English. Certainly busy, but well able to cope.
Be prepared for the 'strange' pictures/murals on the wall. They 'portray' three of the four seaons but we never found Summer.

This is a small specialist Belgian / German restaurant in a suburban town called Frechen. Selected from previous T-A reviews and not disappointed. The crab croquette salad starter was truly historic. The only minor complaint is that the frites were not as Belgian asa the rest of the meal. Would certainly go back.

Ein Besuch lohnt nicht.
Man bekommt für viel Geld mittelmäßige Küche. Die Region bietet in der Nähe bessere Alternativen.
Alles in allem wegen des guten Service noch etwas mehr als Durchschnitt.

We were lucky enough to eat here on a very warm saturday evening, which means everyone can sit outside. Lovely atmosphere. The menu is
mainly grilled meats, including kangaroo!, and the portion sizes are huge. The meals were delicious. One thing that looses them a point is the self serve salad bar, which is of sad canteen quality and not matching the standard of the meat and potatoes. The beer is brewed on site in a micro brewery and
is well worth drinking lots of! Especially lokstoff.

In this couple-run restuarant the Chef is very friendly - and the food they serve is a little out of the ordenary. It's absolutely great!
A variety of wines, olive oils are avalaible if you want to take something home. Warm atmosphere.
They also have special events. We attended a olive oil tasting. For 15€ we were not only served the oils to taste with bread but a variety of delicious stuff life cooked in front of us, accompanied by champagner. At the occasion the chef offered his knowledge concerning the oils. We felt it to be great value and enjoyed it very much.
Restaurant and special events higly recommended.

Being vegetarian in Germany is a little challenging. That's why BioElsa was a super find for us that we went back to a second time.
Our first visit we ordered off the menu, which was delicious- pasta with tofu - all organic. The second visit we choose the buffet - loved the chick peas in tomato sauce!
Elsa, the owner is very friendly, fluent in German and Greek. Her son, who helps in the restaurant speaks English as well. Great food, great service, very friendly, super clean and all organic!

We were staying in a hotel in Frechen and happened upon the Altes Brauhaus. What a great place! There is a Bierstube inside, a larger restaurant-type room, and an outdoor Biergarten. We couldn't find Seating for our family of four in the crowded Biergarten, so we sat a few steps away in the restaurant. The menu contains many German traditional favorites and has a kids' menu as well. This is more of a local place, so there was no English menu, but the wait staff was very accomodating. The prices were reasonable and the service was prompt and pleasant. A nice find off the beaten path outside of Köln!

Small location, reservation highly recommended. Excellent food though a bit pricy. Nice service. Choice of sake.
