A very cozy nicely appointed traditional Swiss restaurant, with extensive wood paneling and ample space between tables. The all - female service team is very friendly, competent and swift. The food is traditional comfort cooking at its best. Starters, entrées and Deserts are tasty and generous, no one is likely to leave here craving more food. Solid wine list, we selected the locally sourced Schwyz Chardonnay house wine which was nicely chilled and refreshingly crisp. A good experience, a few steps away from the world - famous Einsiedeln Abbey and its venerated black madonna in the beautiful main church.

The Restaurant Schifflände, has a speciality: Chicken in the basket.
This restaurant is mostly known for this speciality and it is totally worth it to drive all the way from Zurich to try this chicken.
The service is also very friendly and motivated which is a rare thing in Switzerland and makes one always very happy.
Great place!

What seemed like a quiet night in the restaurant did not affect the food. Brilliant, fresh, and quick.
One of our party had the risotto and said it was fantastic, everyone else had pizza, everyone was delighted. Hand made bases plenty but not too many toppings. Really great food.
I also learned how to pour Weis beer from a bottle. Complicated but worth it.
Really enjoyed it. Go here if you are in Einsiedeln.

We stopped by Cafe Tulipan for lunch which is right next to the Monastery of Einsiedeln.
If you know the place; you know it's nice but also a tourist trap. So we not expected much when ordering our lunch. We ordered several dishes, to mention is the flamcake which is pretty good and reasonable priced. We finished our stay with coffee and cake.
At the end, we paid much less as expected due to the very reasonable pricing.
Service was fast and friendly; even the place was almost full.
We also shopped at the bakery which is open during sundays. Overall we had been surprised, positive!

Thai is one of our favorite cuisines and we're hard to impress. Muang Thai managed that perfectly. The restaurant occupies the ground floor of a rather uninspiring building. Once you enter though, you feel like you're in Thailand. A warm welcome, the air scented with spices, a family run establishment with very talented Thai chefs catering for the most demanding. Try the crispy duck in red curry, it's our favorite. Go for the house wines - both the white and the red pair perfectly with the spicy food.

This is a nice - recently renovated - place when you are in Einsiedeln. It's located just across the famous Abbey and is a good choice to grab some coffee or food. This nicely located restaurant (at the corner of Einsiedeln, close to hiking paths and a big park area just off the famous monastery) offers a excellent selection of fresh homemade, partially local food served in a cute old-style furnished place. Great service and a good price/value ratio. The restaurant isn't that big (at least not the inside part), so Reservations during high seasons is probably advised.

This place was recommended because of their meat dishes as have their own butchery... we and our gourmand friends decided to have most their meat dishes cordon bleu, steak, most served with fries and rice and a soup... meat dishes were, well, nothing special... my soup was very salty, tasted and looked exactly the same like in other places... a ready to cook preparation just add boiling water, more salt and maybe some Aromat... Is a kids friendly place. There is a special kids menu, more or less the same but smaller portions. The only thing what we appreciated the most was the wine ordered; a red Swiss wine matured inside the monastery ....
The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, with wooden finishings, everything in order and cleaned as most Swiss standards.
Service was unnecessarily hasty since the restaurant wasn't full, the waitress could took it easy with us but looked that she wanted to finish asap, everything cleared and cleaned!... just wanted to continue to finish the fries from the dish, turned to talk and then suddenly the dish was disappeared from the table...
Maybe having bratwursts, mulled wine and other hot snacks at the Christmas market stands were of better value than this dining experience but it was so Arctic freezing outside...
