An intimate and contemporary Scottish restaurant with classic French influences in the beautiful fishing village of Stein, Isle of Skye.
What a step up from our last visit. A thoroughly fine dining experience with excellent service. The change of ownership has produced a wondrous transformation from pretend to real fine dining. With the current set up this is really something to enjoy if you're in this neck of the woods. Highly highly recommended.

We booked dinner for 5 friends and were not disappointed from start to finish. We had pre dinner drinks in the lounge with wonderful accompanying snacks. Dinner was superb with excellent service and great recommendations on matching wines. A very warm, friendly & relaxing atmosphere...MoreThank you Mandy W for a warm and friendly review of your evening with us. Greatly appreciated.

We are a family run business in our 30th year of trade, serving seafood and other locally grown and harvested produce, Scottish Meat and Game, craft Scottish Beers, wines and spirits. We are open from Mon-Thursday for light lunches, Sunday Lunch for a 2/3 course menu, and 7 nights a week from 6pm.
Definitely one of the best meal we've had in Scotland, and definitely an "old school" restaurants. No-fuss, high-quality, delicious traditional Scottish food (including the best Cranachan of our trip) and very good service. We had a lovely night - definitely recommended.

Cafe Bistro, with decking providing outside Seating to the rear of the Cafe Bistro, looking out over Loch Dunvegan. Next to the village filling- station,
We ordered the vegetable curry which was ok, vegetarian lasagne which was mediocre- rather like a frozen style with a couple of chunks of vegetables and the rest sloppy pasta. The crusty bread was two slices of dry, day old baguette for £11 and the Chilli was a small portion to say the least!
Expensive for mediocre, cafe food. Slow service and lots of 'pinging' could be heard from the kitchens microwave. Give it a miss!

The best meal on Skye since we were here last (and that includes two very highly rated establishments) Christmas menu excellent with superb Turkey dish and all the trimmings. Also a fantastic featherblade of beef. Finished off with
excellent Pannacotta. Great consistency and very friendly helpful local staff - other restaurants could learn from the recruitment and training of staff here

A high quality organic cake shop selling our own handmade organic cakes and chocolates.
Limited Seating for our Toasted Sandwich and Coffee - we called in as we were using the nearby toilets - why does a restaurant serving hot food not have an accessible WC.
Toasted Scottish Cheddar Sandwich seemed to be stringy Mozzarella and accompanied by some stale crisps - £6.00 very expensive
How can they charge London prices for a curry with rice - £17.50 would get me a curry in a very good London Indian restaurant
Might help if they used local staff

Really convenient confectioner in Dunvegan, where we were staying at The Tide B&B. The confectionery was always good, and well-priced. There is limited Seating, so, you might battle for a seat/table, but this did not impact us, as our orders were always take-aways.

We were camping in Dunvegan for the night and came here for a meal. First impressions upon arriving were that it looked a bit grim. Ordered a drink and looked at the menu. Bog standard pub grub, nothing exciting. So we both went for fish and chips. Food came fairly quickly. Ok, but nothing special, it was just...fish and chips. A bit greasy, not the best chips but crispy batter. It was a bit off putting to listen to the two Eastern European girls chattering in their own language whilst we ate, yet they didn't go out of their way to make us feel welcome. If we return to Dunvegan I very much doubt if we would return here.

Smart, clean with home cooked food from soup to paninis all local products including our salad which is picked & delivered within 1hr. Even our coffee is roasted on the isle of skye with a blend you will not find anywhere else.
Good shop to wander around, lots of interesting items to buy. Great location, scenery nearby is lovely. Friendly helpful staff.

Stopped here for afternoon tea. The only scones left were cheese. We sat outside at a dirty table. The tea was awful it had far too much tea in the pot. The scones were hard and dry. Butter portion was so small it didn't cover half a scone. They were tasteless and stale.
Staff were having there own lunch/tea an were not interested in serving us.
Wished we had stopped at the one further along the road.
