The elegant modern dining room has a relaxed welcoming atmosphere. Short hand-written menus change frequently, as they are based on local seasonal ingredients. A concise interesting choice ensures that each dish is prepared individually for each customer, allowing for great attention to detail. The restaurant is an ideal place to book for a private party to celebrate a special occasion, birthday, anniversary or an intimate wedding. Set tasting menus are tailor-made to the diners choice. The restaurant can accommodate special dietary requirements easily, as everything is home-made - just let us know in advance when you book. For example, we bake our own gluten-free bread for coeliacs. If you require a vegetarian menu or have any other dietary requirements, please let us know when booking. The wine list offers an interesting reasonably priced selection, hand selected affordable quality wines to compliment the food.
We had booked this restaurant after struggling to find a good quality restaurant in the area. However we were truly overwhelmed by this great restaurant. The service was amazing and the friendly atmosphere of this small restaurant meant that it was very comfortable. Although it was a fine dining meal it was much more relaxed compared to other places. The food was superb and the portions were also a generous size. Would recommend to anyone looking for either a treat or a good place to eat.

The Peat Inn is owned by award winning Chef and columnist Geoffrey Smeddle and his wife Katherine. With Geoffrey at the heart of the kitchen and Katherine's warmth and care filling the restaurant, they have been successful in building on the very fine reputation of one of Scotland's most cherished destinations. The Inn has existed on this spot since the 1700s. Today, the Michelin starred restaurant with rooms continues to welcome guests who appreciate the special and very personal experience which is the hallmark of The Peat Inn. Three small dining rooms make up the restaurant, providing an intimate setting for lunch or dinner. Each room is also available for private parties if required. The reception lounge with its deep sofas and open log fire, creates an atmosphere which is elegant and refined and made all the more enjoyable by the friendly and attentive service. A few steps from the restaurant is The Residence where eight individually designed luxury suites offer the opportunity for a rather special night away, where the pleasures of the table spill over into a charming over-night setting. From your aperitif upon arrival to coffee and a liqueur before you have to depart, we are sure you will enjoy every moment of the wonderful cuisine and hospitality at The Peat Inn.
We had lunch last week
I opted for the 4 course tasting lunch menu. Was brilliant.
Wife had the 3 course set lunch menu which she also loved.
Great little touches in between like the amuse bouche. Beautiful fresh breads. Coffee and Petit Fours.
I enjoyed a brilliant whisky cocktail in the Lounge beforehand. We also enjoyed a couple of glass of red wine and white wi e during our meal.
Excellent attentive staff and it was a really
Relaxed atmosphere.
Great few hours spent here. We will return.

We organised a surprise birthday lunch for a friend who was '80' years young and the staff were absolutely brilliant. They were efficient at getting all our food orders correct, no mean feat as we all requested different starters, more starters for main meals along with regular mains and even allowed us to bring in a birthday cake to have with our coffee/tea. All the food was well cooked and presented. Thanks for making the afternoon such a success.

Used an Itison voucher for 2 course sunday lunch and was very impressed. Good selection of meals and all were simply delicious and very well presented. For the main I had roast beef and Yorkshire pudding and the portion was more than ample and to die for. Staff were friendly and helpful and surroundings were cosy and comfortable. Will certainly return.

Indian Restaurant
visited here this week for my birthday treat. Not being very impressed on a previous visit we were a little reluctant but decided to try again. Totally different from a previous visit. The proprietor was friendly, helpful and has a sense of humour. All helped to make a pleasant evening for the three of us. The food we had was all excellent - a description I would normally rarely use. The quantities were more than adequate. All in all a very pleasant evening. We will not always choose this restaurant when we eat out in the area. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

Although referred to as a cafe on their website, they prepare full meals, both european and authentic thai. I hope you can list it as it is serves superb food.
This wee gem is more than coffee shop with a wonderful atmosphere. all the food is all home baked, cooked, and scrumptious. The haggis, neeps and tattie soups is delicious. The salad bowl is massive and very tasty... Sheila and the staff are fantastic. Thank you!

Tucked away off the Crossgate, luckily we saw the sign on the route to Argos store.
Pleasant helpful staff and a reasonable choice of snacks. Cakes looked yummy. Maybe next time we visit I'll go for the cream tea. Wheelchair access to the toilet may present problems. The tearoom was pretty busy when we visited at lunchtime.
Will be back....most definitely.

A modern cafe/bakery, open to the public.
Since it opened Fisher and Donaldson has been a popular meeting place for Cupar locals. The company has a long established reputation in NE Fife for snacks and hot drinks. I arranged to meet a friend recently and as always service, location and quality was all that I would have expected. Service and pricing were fine.

Nestled alongside the Ceres Burn, Meldrums Hotel is a mid-19th century coaching inn that marries Iberian cuisine with the rustic charm of Scottish hospitality. Our passion is great food and great service. We believe that each and every guest deserves only the best from the moment that they arrive: a warm welcome from our staff; a pre-supper cocktail - using the best ingredients and perfectly-mixed; the finest cuts of meat and seasonal produce cooked to perfection; attentive, yet discreet, service; and rustic surroundings from which to watch the world pass by. Our suite of rooms are a home away from home and are ideal for those wishing to absorb the culture and history of Edinburgh and St Andrews or to escape to the wilds of the Highlands. Our menus are eclectic. We source our ingredients from local farmers and merchants and complement them with the finest imported cheeses, meats - including the Pata Negra - and spices. Our dishes embody the very best of Iberian cuisine. Our menus are eclectic. We source our ingredients from farmers and merchants - all of whom are local to the area - and marry them with the finest imported cheeses, meats and spices to create dishes that are both contemporary and traditional. Our dishes embody the very best of Iberian cuisine. Choice cuts of Aberdeen Angus, chargrilled or roasted until tender, are enhanced by locally-sourced Portobello mushrooms or vine-ripened tomatoes. The depth and spice of Portuguese and Spanish gastronomy is married with time-honoured Scottish fare; tarragon-scented navarin of lamb is balanced by dumplings flavoured with Isle of Mull Cheddar and cannelloni al dente is stuffed with a delicate hot smoked salmon mousse. Our dishes combine the flavours and spices of the Continent and the New World with the earthy and robust textures of these Isles and their waters. The lightness of grilled scallops are enriched by a black pudding from Asturia and a puree of English peas; our breasts of Barbary and Gressingham duck are marinated in Teriyaki; and our Taste of the Sea combines the meatiness of mussels and scallops with the delicacy of sea bass in a seafood bisque laced with hints of coriander.
Very good welcome from the landlord and landlady with great food and service. Made our dog very welcome too. The furniture and decor in the bar is a little tired but is forgiveable given that everything else is good.
