Room with A View, Seafood Restaurant situated within the Forth View Hotel in the coastal village Aberdour, Fife. Enjoy succulent scallops, wholesome halibut & Fresh Langoustines and many more delicious seasonal seafood dishes cooked to exquisite perfection. Whilst also enjoying the small but special menu you can enjoy the spectacular views of Edinburgh and the river Forth whilst listening to local Classical Guitar player Nick Rees on the sound system (who also plays live on occasion). Every seat offers a view of Edinburgh or Aberdour Harbour or climbers on the Hawkcraig Cliffs. On a sunny day it is nice to enjoy a pre-dinner drink in the garden area or eat Al fresco
Often great views from a restaurant equates to overpriced, poor quality food. This definitely is NOT the case with Room with a View. Location is spectacular with panoramic vistas looking over the bay to Aberdour, the Forth Rail Bridge and stretching over to Arthur’s Seat and beyond in Edinburgh.
The restaurant itself is small, only 8 or so tables tucked into a little dining room simply but neatly decorated in the Forth View Hotel. The building is down a steep track from the Silver Sands car park, either walk (no heals/posh shoes) or take the restaurant up on the offer of a lift.
The menu is small and well thought out, not too fancy but still with some innovation. Service was attentive without being overbearing.
Food, primarily seafood as you’d expect, was very well prepared and presented. Tasting plates are on offer for starters and desserts which offer a good chance to try a variety of dishes. Mains were also very well prepared with some interesting flavours and texture combos.
The wine list looks interesting, although unfortunately we didn’t have a chance to try many of them out.
We had lunch for three people - 3 courses with a glass of wine each all for just over £100 - very good value for money too.
Highly recommended.

Khushi's was the first Indian restaurant opened in Scotland in 1947.
Was so looking forward to going when friends said how great it was, so we were quite dissappointed when we went for lunch during the week. Wasn't a lot on offer and there was only a couple of veggie options. Didn't know that it wasn't licensed either. Took the bus so we could have a couple of drinks. Sorry but we won't be back.

Firstly, I only write TA reviews if the food had been either really poor or really good. On this occasion very good. We had the fillet and the sirloin and both were very tasty and flavourosme. The highlight for me was the homemade Tirimasu which was the best I've ever tasted, and I've been to Italy and had homemade Tirimasu there too but this surpassed it by far. Great service aswell. My new favourite place when I'm in Dunfermline.

IN THE HEART OF THE TOWN, LOVELY PLACE FOR A NICE LUNCH DURING YOUR SHOPPING OR FOR A SMART DINNER TO IMPRESS YOUR WIFE OR FRIENDS.....
We visited on a Sunday evening in February and it wasn't very busy but the food and the service were excellent. The garlic mushroom starter was more than adequate for two people accompanied by some complimentary bread sticks which were gorgeous. Fillet steaks for the main course were excellent as were the accompaniments. We would definitely return. P.S. The two young ladies who were waiting on were very helpful and friendly.

One of the finest dining establishments in West Fife with a reputation of good food and quality service in elegant, yet relaxed surroundings. Come and see for yourself, probably the best kept secret in West Fife. The dining rooms are overseen at all times by a highly dedicated and experienced team of staff. Our chefs are an enthusiastic and professional team ensuring that dining at Garvock House is an opportunity to enjoy the wonderful fresh local ingredients for which Scotland is so well known. All are cooked with great flair and imagination with local flavours shining through.
It had been a while since we had been to Garvock for dinner. The question has to be why!! The service is 100% set up for customer satisfaction, the ambience is relaxed and welcoming. The supper menu has a good selection of dishes available, it may take some time to decide what to eat. We settled on the Haggis balls in a whisky cream sauce (delicious). To follow we had the Venison casserole (melted in the mouth) and Chicken with gnocchi (succulent and tasty). The desserts didn't disappoint either. Both were perfection on a plate. The last words must go to the amazing staff who make this such a enjoyable experience, they are attentive but not overbearing.

The very best of the worlds wines await your arrival and traditional desserts to enhance your dinner. We are waiting to welcome you!
Been going to Everest for many a year and always receive great service and food. Don’t think I’ve ever had a bad dish.
North Indian Garlic chicken is great. Lamb Tikka is brilliant. Love the Tamdoori mixed grill. The starters are all excellent and I’ve added a picture of the onion bhaji as the presentation is good as well.
Only room for improvement over the likes of Kushis is decor as it’s not changed for years and isn’t the most aesthetically pleasing restaurant although don’t let that out you off as the food than makes up for it.

I personally hadn't been here for 4 or 5 years since we moved further away. Used to come here frequently and was always a favourite of ours.
Since my last visit the restaurant has been refurbished and the section, which I think was a closed private function area, has now been opened up as part of the main restaurant.
The place is now much more modern and tastefully decorated and furnished.
Some of our group went for the buffet deal including 5 drinks for £23 and others buffet only for £12 choosing to add soft drinks. Either way excellent value for money.
The buffet is much bigger then before, offering endless choices of starters, mains and Deserts. Food quality is fantastic too.
Thanks to the staff for hosting our night out.
I'll certainly be back very soon.

Nestled in the rich farming hamlet of Auchtertool, this cosy restaurant has been refurbished recently to create an eclectic mix of old and new. Roaring log fires create a relaxed and informal atmosphere in winter. The philosophy behind the food is purely to use the produce of some Fife farmers, growers and producers, so that our food will never have to travel far to reach your table. As an independent free house it is our aim to serve a good quality, ever-changing selection of local and regional cask ales, along with delicious, but inexpensive house red and white wines, up to champagnes to help you celebrate in style
Nice cosy little counrty pub out in thane of fife's wonderful countryside.
The food was very nice and tasty. Service nice and friecdly.
2 things which did niggle me... i found the prices rather expensive for what it is. The curry was around £12 but a bit of a rip off. I would be happy to pay around £9 instead. They have a lovely picture advert for whisky with 2 snuggly dogs but it is a Christmas message on it.... perhaps this would be only better to put up at Christmas time.
Would go back as enjoyed the meal.
