the restaurant is located directly on the beach. we had a great family lunch, on a quiet Monday afternoon. the place was only 10% occupied - which made it a super experience - great attention, quick service, no rush... The fish platters are great, try them with one of the additional sauces, e.g. 'salsa de camarones'. the view from the Terrace is relaxing (see pictures). not sure how crowded it can be in summer time / long weekends, but in off-season it's a 'must' location to visit!!

Pica Mar Adentro doesn't look promising from the road, but once you are in there is a clean, modern restaurant, professionally-administered with quite good seafood. It's important to realize that the portions are really quite large and you should look for opportunities to share. The...MoreThanks for your opinion welcome back any time

Had dinner there. Awful experience.
The only positives.
The setting is beautiful and the vista of the beach great, that where the positives end.
The negatives.
Ordered a steak and salad for 2.
Waiter offhand - took over an hour for medium rare steaks to arrive.
They must be on commission because they try to upsell you all the time while you are waiting.
As we threatened to walk out miraculously the food arrived.
Steak tough, charred (not medium rare) - matched the service.
Vegetable side order miniscule and cold.
Waiters rude. Manager the same.
Did not tip and left half the food behind. Expensive and disappointing.
Go there at your peril there are many other lovely restaurants in this area.

Great fish, fresh seafood, locals would never choose any other. The best cheese empanadas!

I went there in early September I enjoyed very much the sea food I had. It was well prepared, excellent taste and well presented. Main dishes have fancy names so you need to request description. The service was also very good. I highly recommend it when you are visiting La Serena

We visited this cafe by accident. We were looking for somewhere to eat but it was a Sunday evening and everywhere was shut!
We ended up ordering a wrap and a salad from here. Expecting cafe standards/portions but it was actually really good food.
My boyfriend also ordered a piece of the chocolate cake, it looked too amazing to resist!

The restaurant is nice. Good and fresh sea food. Worth having a meal there. Coquimbo is not that far from La Serena.

I visited Tio Coco when looking for somewhere I hadn't eaten before on the La Serena beach area. The reviews looked good and I wasn't disappointed. While at first glance you might wonder, as it's set back from the beach among other small restaurants, what it's like. The food was Chilean and very good and the service friendly and quick.
