Marisa's restaurant is part of Marisa Resort & Spa at Chiang Dao, just off road 107. The restaurant is open 7 days a week. Kitchen is open for Lunch from 12 - 15.30 and for Dinner from 17.30 - 21.00. Various menu's. Chef's special is the fish.
Lovely Gardens, great food (Northern Thai) and very nice helpful people. They were very helpful creating vegetarian versions of classic dishes using mushroom or fake meat. Let us bring our own wine...no corkage. Try the deep fried morning glory...like a giant birds nest...fabulous taste...they could improve the "vibe" massively if they lit the garden with more lights and prettier lights....the dining room could have been lit much more intimately. When they get that right this place really will be a gem.

We opened this restaurant December 2009. It is built it with teak wood in classical thai style. The location is in scenic area in front of Malee"s Bungalow and just before the Nest. Our menu is mainly Thai, some western food available as well. Our prices are moderate.
I dined at malee'e restaurant for 2 days (breakfast and dinners) and really enjoyed the tasty Thai meals. Nothing fancy, just excellent traditional Thai cooking. I am a resident of Thailand and have no hesitation in recommending malee's restuarant for grat value real Thai food

We'd booked dinner at Nest 2 on our first evening, and stopped there for lunch to "sample it." Our choices were vegetarian, though we're not vegetarians. Papaya salad with crispy tofu, vegetarian spring rolls and tempura morning glory. My companion and I are keen cooks - this was a gastronomic delight! We couldn't wait for dinner, and decided with such a varied menu, we would eat lunch and dinner at Nest 2 throughout or stay. We just didn't want to miss an opportunity to dine here. Every single dish was a feast. A couple of times we chose to "up" the spice level. Phew, fantastic!
Nest 2's chef, Oh, chatted with all the diners. Her passion for food, and pleasure at seeing happy diners, was evident. Nest 2 serves the best Thai food I have ever eaten, without doubt. I plan to return in (very) low season in the hope of learning more about Oh's cooking and having the pleasure of eating it again.
I reviewed the Nest as a whole (under "accommodation"), and this review is contained therein. On seeing that I could also review the restaurant individually, I had to take the opportunity. Whilst I've ticked "cheap eats," the standard of the food is definitely first rate. Were this restaurant in the UK, people would be queuing to eat here, and booking months in advance.
If you're a "foodie" visiting Chiang Dao, this is an unmissable experience.

Haven lived in Mae Rim for 15 years, Baan Suan Mae Rim is the best Thai restaurant around the neighbourhood. Ingredients and herbs are ultra fresh. I particularly like the stuffed squid soup with glass noodle, which is their speciality. You have to ask for it as it is not on the menu. Vegetable tempura is also delicious. We like the table by the water. Nothing fancy, but down to earth.

I have visited this restaurant/accommodation and have to say the food is freshly prepared, tasty with a good choice of menu. Accomodation new and in my opinion up to hotel standard. In the main Thai food is served but, they do prepare western food should you wish. (steak etc)
I found the owner of this business to be very helpful, friendly and knowlable of the area. Pradit went out of his way to make you feel welcome. The rooms were excellent, very clean and well equipped. The food was Northern Thai that was freshly prepared and tasty.

We serve local, organically shade-grown Arabica coffee beans freshly roasted every day. We also serve simple, soul-food. There are also free wi-fi, toilet, showers, and camping grounds, where you can stop by and prepare for your trip further north :)

This cafe is brilliant. Stopped here between fang and chiang mai. The good was so nice and the coffee or drinks fantastic aswell. My parents live in fang and stop here every trip. They talked it up to me and it lived up to expectation.
It's a must!

Typical northern Thai food and regular Thai food. Fruit shakes are also available.
Patronne très sympathique, cuisine variée, grand moment de découverte.
Le patron parle le français, l'anglais et le thaïlandais.
C'est un endroit en dehors des sentiers battus, loin du tourisme de masse.

This restaurant is located on Route 107, about 500 meters South of the crossing with the street that leads to the Chiang Dao Cave (the Tripadvisor map shows the restaurant North of the intersection; this is wrong!). The restaurant is on the Eastern side (i.e. to your right when you come from Chiang Mai). Sanae Doi Luang has a very nice garden setting. They only serve Thai food. We had four dishes. The lemon grass/shrimp salad was excellent, the Naem and mixed mushrooms were good and the Nam prig oong (a Northern Thai specialty) was a bit disappointing. For the four dishes and two bottles of beer we paid 800 Baht which is very reasonable given the very nice setting. Please note that the restaurant closes at 9 pm.
