Chéticamp (locally [ʃetikɑ̃]) is a fishing village on the Cabot Trail on the west coast of Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia at the western entrance to Cape Breton Highlands National Park which contains Acadian Trail. The downtown area overlooks a harbour that is protected from the Gulf of Saint Lawrence by Chéticamp Island. The Cheticamp River flows into the Gulf of St. Lawrence approximately 5 km northeast of the village. Having a number of public facilities it performs a service function for the northernmost part of Inverness County. The community has almost 4,000 residents, a large majority of whom are Acadians and speak French natively. Together with its smaller neighbour, Saint-Joseph-du-Moine, Chéticamp makes up the largest Francophone enclave on Cape Breton Island. The 2006 population was 3,039 people.

Located along Cheticamp Harbour, We have the best spot to capture an amazing sunset and watch the fishing boats drive by. We serve fresh seafood, steaks, pastas, ribs and much more. We do have a casual bar, and a kids menu available. We also offer FREE shuttle service within the Cheticamp Region only. Please call or drop in to inquire on this service.
We had a competent, pleasant lunch here. The Caesar salad was good, as was the club Sandwich. I didn't get into the live violin music particularly. It was across the room and began to take on the sameness of bagpipe music before long. The only song I recognized was one of the greatest songs ever written, the Bob Wills classic "Faded Love," and this was not a great version, to be sure.
The fish and chips that passed by looked good, and if fries are your thing, there appeared to be a modest mountain of them on every plate.
I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again, but I'd try other places before I went back.

WE ordered lunch here today while driving on the Cabot Trail. Not many restaurants were open, and we decided to stop here and try it. We ordered Grilled Cheese with Fricot Soup, Haddock Wrap with Onion Rings. We both enjoyed our lunch but portions were pretty small for a big price.

We spent 2 nights in Chéticamp while biking the Cabot Trail, and enjoyed a relaxing and delicious lunch on Wabo's patio. The Donair pizza and poutine were both astounding (and reasonably priced), the service was friendly and fast, and the view on the patio was lovely!

Oh I expected so much from this place, possibly because we were very hungry after a long drive and it looks very quaint when you drive by. I was exceptionally disappointed in everything we order including the service! 6 tiny pan seared scallop appetizer at $15.00 was insane and the gravy on my daugher's soggy burnt tasteless french fries was like black tasteless sludge and to top it off - shredded mozzarella does NOT pass for cheese curds in a poutine thank you very much - ...yuck! The side of vegetables on my plate were cold and tasteless and most definitely came out of a bag. My Acadian beef fricot soup was was just okay, nothing to write home about that's for sure. My fishcakes were okay but pretty cold and the side order of home style beans just may have been the best part of the meal. I can't tell you how disappointing it is to go to a Maritime Restaurant and get Kraft brand tarter sauce served with seafood in little packets...ugh! Really? The side of Acadian pie was absolutely gross, dry and tasteless and ice cold as well...I would not recommend the "Acadian plate"at all...My partner ordered the Fried Clams and they were more like fried ground clam balls...just disgusting....I am sorry we stopped here and this is one of the worst food experiences of my life..second only to food once served at my high school cafeteria perhaps...life it too short to pay large sums of hard earned cash to be served this type of fare...
The Service was slow although it was pretty busy, however, others were served before us even though we arrived several tables earlier. I couldn't wait to get out of that place...Love Cape Breton but this restaurant is a poor example of our wonderful Seafood fare that is sold along Nova Scotia's shores...

One of the park rangers recommended Mr. Chicken for their soft serve. She said it was the best she'd ever tasted, so when I got a craving for some ice cream we decided to check it out. OMG, it really is the best soft serve ever. We ended up going twice! It was that good.

The Inn operates a full restaurant with excellent service, attractive decor and good food! Served the best lobster supper I've had yet.
This accommodation has everything you need for visiting the Cheticamp area and hiking the start of the Cabot Trail. Laundry facilities are limited so use them as soon as possible before any busses arrive. The included breakfast buffet was very good and required only a snack for lunch. Hint try for the Highlander Building as it is very quiet.

An original pub built in 1966 with astonishing view of the harbour and Cheticamp Island. Watch fishing boats or whale tour boats while enjoying a fabulous meal, a cold drink, or listening to one of our raved ceilidhs or live music acts. Many locals eat and/or come for fun at this laid back pub. We hope your experience is up to par, and welcome comments on Tripadvisor...
We enjoyed our meal here. Food was excellent and the service great. Our server, Lola, was a joy to talk to as she gave us a lot of information on the history of the area and spent time with us. The meals were reasonably priced and the portions were huge.

Lovely little family-owned cafe and affiliated gallery at a mini pond. Very, very friendly owner; great coffee and pastry.

Just had a lovely lobster supper. Cooked to perfection, with nicely cooked vegetables and baked potato. Highly recommended. My wife had scallops wrapped in bacon with sweet potato fries , same again, perfectly cooked. Staff very pleasant and helpful.
