We went there for dinner. Everything is class, waiters, the decoration of the tables and the restaurant generally. It is located near Montreux in a small quiet village. We were warmly welcomed and the service was really good. They know really well the products they propose (wine, cheese, dishes). We had the duck as the main dish. Was incredible. So if you like good food and your budget allows it, go there.

Restaurant-brasserie in the heart of Chatel-St-Denis, close to the public transport. The house also owns 4 bedrooms. The cheese fondue has been a family tradition for a century. In addition to its delicious fondue, the restaurant is famous for its inside, adorned with figures carved in wood. Each table is unique, carved or inlaid. And rather ironic, if the opposite of Tivoli is "i lov it" you will come again very soon.
Nice resto for fondue! Ground floor is a little outdated but upstairs is fairly modern. Food is good, nice to go after skiing. Nothing extraordinary but just a nice resto...

Seriously now, giving this place (only) a 13/20 rating is in no way justified. The setting, the welcome, the service and, above all, the cooking are way above the Gault & Milleau evaluation. The latter especially in relation to the Os à Moëlle, Potté d’escargots, Lapin Tessinoise and the Crème brûlée. There simply is no better. The refined preparation, presentation and exceptional taste are an easy match to what Gault & Milleau rates with near perfect scores elsewhere. Bravo Claudia, Christian and staff. Luckily, you don’t need a gourmet guide to promote your restaurant. What really matters is the opinion of customers. And on my evaluation scale you have reached the top. Well done. Keep up the excellent work.

I ordered risotto without knowing what was in it (the waiter spoke some English, but could only identify "little fish"), and it turned out to be scallops. I was delighted and it was delicious. My family members also enjoyed their hamburgers, which were served with field greens salads and fries.

Lived in Montreux for some time and discovered this place by a friend. Never really took the time to write about it but lately while in Bali, and talking with some Swiss customers about my best culinary experience in the country, my memory came back to L'Auberge Communale where I spent a special moment with Mireille, my wife. Even after almost a year I like to thanks Emilie for a fantastic service, the way she advised us about the food and wine and for sure the food served. Very professionnal and friendly staff. It was all what you espect from a gastronomic restaurant, all in flavour and delicatness but rather surprising for an auberge communale. A must try and a best kept secret in the area. Even the wallet thanks you afterwards. So all the best for this new business and as we say in Bali. Suksama.
Mimi and Laurent.

The restaurant is split into a brasserie and a 1 star Michelin guide area, we chose for the later one, but being offered to be in the Terrace we opted for the Terrace.
We arrived at 20.30, and the Terrace was full of people mixed between brasserie and restaurant. Plastic table and chairs where just the same for all.
The restaurant menu goes by the number of dishes you chose and is based upon the fantasy of the chef.
We chose the one with one appetizer, 1 main course, cheese and dessert at 115 CHF each.
During the first 45 minutes we received only a basket of bread and the water and wines ordered.
Now, for a set menu where the chef can prepare all the dishes before this is much to long, and the only thing that we have been told is that the restaurant was full and we would have to wait. Than finally arrived a preappetizer with squids on a fresh ligh green source. Followed by the appetizer made of parmigian cheese soufflé on a beets cream, as main excellent fillets and lastly good cheeses and good dessert.
We finished at 22.30.
I have to add that when we arrived most customers where already at their dessert.
Also when we received the cheese we asked for bread but we had to wait for a while to receive it.
The food is good, but the idea of mixing 2 different style of serving and not preparing the dishes that are chosen only by the chef is a mistake. Service is crucial if you are running a starred restaurant

Welcome to the Auberge de Chaulin ideally located on the heights of Montreux and enjoying a panoramic view of Lake Geneva, Stéphanie offers you a refined cuisine of season and Christopher welcomes you warmly and advises you local wines to accompany it.
We had Sunday lunch at this lovely resto. It is set about above Montreux apparently about an hour’s walk and ten minutes by car (there is parking for those arriving by car). We had a table by the window which afforded beautiful views of the lake below.
The place is run by a husband and wife team, Mrs is the brilliant chef and Mr is the very personable front of house who, as other reviewers have also said, speaks excellent English should your school French be a bit rusty.
The menu, which is in French but comes with an offer of help if needed, was concise and very seasonal, the wine list was extensive with plenty of local options. We were lucky enough to eat there during game season and we chose the chef’s suggestion of deer which seemed to be a popular choice and was certainly delicious. The whole experience was excellent. The service friendly and attentive, the food and wine excellent – it was a pleasure to eat there, we felt very looked after. I think our experience could have only been bettered if we had gone on a slightly warmer day and been able to eat on the Terrace but we still had a lovely view of the lake from our table inside. By normal standards it would be considered quite expensive, but by Montreux standards it was reasonable, particularly for the quality of the food and the service – generally if you are in Switzerland you have to be prepared for the prices.

You have to like cheese dishes if you choose this restaurant. The interior is made in the local chalet style and is very nice. We chose to share a fondue which the offer for one person and after that we had the cream-cheese macaroni. They serve them with wooden spoons. The food is very tasty, the vacherin fondue was prepared perfectly. A great place in Les Paccots.

I have lived in China and love Chinese food and this is one of the best. This place is run by a Chinese chef that was brought to Switzerland some years ago to cook in a Chinese restaurant and after some years he went on his own and his wife is now up front. As the name implies, it is Sichuan cooking, but, as in all Chinese restaurants, there are a variety of dishes from all over China on offer.
We have eaten at this restaurant many times for dinners as well as lunches and always been very satisfied with the taste as well as of the quality of the food. The service is pleasant and correct.
During the week, at lunch, they serve a buffet. We were there for lunch this time. It includes a Soup, a choice of 4 starters, today's choice in parenthesis, (crab claws, deep fried squid, spring roll, deep fried onions), 4 main courses (sweet and sour chicken, Beef Sichuan (very tender), BBQ Pork ribs, a Sichuan Chicken dish, a choice of fried rice and noodles and a mandarin for dessert....all for CHF 18.50....and all you can eat! A real bargain and very good quality. No wonder they had a full house!
