Visited here last evening with my husband and three daughters, everything about this place ticks all the boxes from the professional attentive staff, the creative delicious food, the wine list, the cleanliness of the toilets, the fantastic unintrusive background classical guitarist, the cosy atmosphere and what a surprise when the waiter asked our daughters names and then arrived with the desserts...with their names in chocolate on the plates!... No occasion..... just because....!!...... they were literally thrilled, as were we with choosing to return here... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND, well done to one and all.

Hotel Restaurant
One of the guys of Carrickcraft told us, that there is served good irish food. So we went there the other evening and made a half and half experience. Two of the served courses were good, the other two were …. okay. The Burger was dry, the sea trout very fresh and well prepared. The Irish beef Sandwich was too well done….and the service was friendly but a little bit disoriented. Anyhow, we had a nice dinner but it was not as we expected it, after the recommendation we got for this restaurant. Next time we try another one in Carrick on Shannon.

Just moved to the area about a month ago and Esquires was the first place I went for coffee.
The coffee is outstanding, I'm yet to find a better coffee in Carrick on Shannon!!! Esquires offer a loyalty card for their coffee.
Great selection of food and drink. I especially recommend the chocolate muffins. Delicious. Very busy at lunch time, which to me is always a good sign.
The decor and atmosphere are great inside and out. The staff are immensely friendly and helpful: 10/10
The food and coffee is a bit on the pricer side. I do feel I am paying extra for good quality coffee and the atmosphere, I personally am happy to pay extra for those things.
The only reason Esquires looses a point is - I've been in a few times and half the time there has been little problems.
EG 1 - Went with 2 other people and ordered 3 coffees and 3 panini. Coffees came really quickly, after about 20 minutes I went and asked about the food and it had been forgotten. The staff were very apologetic and I understand in a busy place these things can happen.
EG 2 - Bought a takeaway Kinder milkshake for my little sister. Inside the cup was the plastic wrapper from the Kinder Bueno bar shredded. Fortunately she noticed before drinking.
These little problems won't discourage me from continuing to get coffee at esquires.

Lad serving was very friendly and helpful.

Always loved the decor and arrangement of furnishings... not on top of people, but very cozy. The desserts are wonderful, and I only recently tried the roast beef Sandwich, which was delish My husband also loved the roast chicken Sandwich. We've already returned for lunch twice. Highly recommend.

The Boardwalk Café, in the Landmark Hotel, is situated on the banks of the River Shannon, Co. Leitrim, Ireland. The décor is interesting with bright green chairs and bright furniture, adding to the lively ambiance. There is an extensive menu with high quality local produce, including fish from the Shannon, and seasonal ingredients. The bar food menu is available all day, from 12md until 9pm daily. We prefer to eat before the live band or resident DJ start up in the evening. There are big screens showing sport and newscasts all around the large dining area – this can be distracting. The food is generally good – rib-eye steaks, the chowder and salmon for mains were all good. A wide range of beers, and excellent Guinness on tap but the wine list quite limited.

Using the finest local ingredients and supporting local producers.
I had the wonderful experience of an evening meal at The Cottage with 3 friends. Never having been there before, and despite hearing rave reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect. My expectations, while high, were hugely surpassed by the wonderful dining experience. The ambiance is wonderful, greatly facilitated by welcoming staff. Manager Lee did a wonderful of explaining the menu with which the only problem was what to choose to eat, everything looked so good. The choice of food is just fantastic, and thankfully, was very much to my taste, and that of my colleagues. I had delightful scallops to start, followed by mouth-watering venison with fresh "al dente" vegetables, couples with a stunning variety of tasty potatoes. The sauces were wonderful. For desert, we chose a medley and this was both a visual and tasteful delight. A fabulous way to end a breathtaking eating experience. Can't wait to visit again. Well done to all at the Cottage! High standards that will make customers marvel!
