Tea House with amazing views over the ocean.
We were on our way to the west coast, leisurely driving on the highway. Something "compelled" me to follow a sign to a lighthouse in the village of Ponta Do Pargo and I'm so glad we did. This tiny but beautiful restaurant sits smack on the westernmost point (or a km away from the actual lighthouse) overlooking the cliffs of western Madeira. Not to come here is missing out. When we got here, we were almost alone, but later more people found their way. The owners are super friendly and grateful for some business. We first only stopped for some "support the local business coffee" before we went for a walk down to the lighthouse and back. We decided to stay for lunch to enjoy the Sunshine and the fresh air, not to mention those views...
The food is simple but delicious. We weren't super hungry so opted mostly for sandwiches and salads. Sadly the place is for sale and has been for a while. So who knows what the future holds...

We found this restaurant in a guide to the area in our rental villa, and booked in advance for a Friday night. We were not disappointed, from the extremely friendly welcome to the enormous portions of delicious food. We had various meat and seafood dishes, including a massive paella which was boxed up for us to take away as we couldn't finish it.
The setting is high on a hill with beautiful views of the town and sea, we got a taxi up as walking would have been challenging. I would highly recommend eating here.

Traditional Portuguese and Madeiran Food. Closed on Thursday. Kitchen Schedule from 12:00 to 16hoo / 18h00 to 22h00. Closes on Sunday and Holidays at 18h00.
if you want to experience authentic madeiran cuisine this has to be the number one choice. i visited it a few times with friends during a recent trip to Madeira and we had amazing food and loved the wonderful atmosphere of this unique family owned restaurant. the green wine (which is served from a tap not a bottle) was some of the best i have tasted, the staff (although busy) were always welcoming and friendly, and the portions are very generous. the fish stew with tuna was my favourite, the potatoes and sweet potatoes were some of the best i have tasted in my life (yes i'm a potato connoisseur).
i'm so glad places like this still exist and remain true to a philosophy of good, honest food, locally sourced and beautifully cooked. a real gem.
(if you visit the restaurant you should take time to explore Prazeres village - the community farm with tea shop and gallery is ideal for a short visit with children.)

LOOKING FORWARD!!
We thought we'd just stop for gelato, but we were so glad we ordered more! The locally flavored Mel de Cana pizza was out if this world! A white pizza with pine nuts, mushrooms, goat cheese and the perfect drizzle of mel de cana. Just amazing. On great dough and served by friendly staff. That and the great gelato made our day!

We have eaten here many times in the past but not for a few years. Quick change of plan as Joe's Bar was closed.
Four of us had Bolo de Caco and Picado. The menus arrived quite quickly and our orders were take quite quickly as well. Drinks arrived, except for the glass of water that was also asked for. The food arrived and was plentiful and good. The waitress made no attempt to offer more drinks or even ask if everything was OK. It wasn't that busy but the staff need to up their game.

Pizzeria Restaurant. Good pizzas, excellent service, great prices. Come and visit us.
Food: For starters we had the typical garlic bread and a mixed salad. The garlic bread was still hot with delicious homemade bread. The mixed salad was okay, but the dressing was disappointing, because it didn´t have much taste to it. The main dishes were delicious. We had a Pizza Hawaii and a Pizza Quattro Formaggi. Both had a thin, crisp crust, which we loved! Overall great food, but we can´t recommend the salad.
Location: A small and cozy restaurant with a cute padio. It is very easy to reach by car.
Price: Fair Prices.

A very relaxed restaurant with very friendly staff. Very attentive to all details. Staff prepared to take time to explain the menu. Delicious, well presented food and a very good wine selection too.
Table-side flambe dishes add a touch of real theatre to the experience. Look forward to returning.

quero mudar a categoria da minha empresa. Está como café e chá.. mas o estabelecimento é restaurante.
We stopped here on a hotel tour to taste the best poncha in Madeira. They made it from freshly squeezed oranges, lemons, local honey and local rum. It was delicious. So much so that we ordered some to go and also a box of their delicious ‘Chico Balls’. Very friendly service and a lovely cosy restaurant. Definitely will visit again on our next vacation.
