Bredasdorp is a town in the Southern Overberg region of the Western Cape, South Africa, and the main economic and service hub of that region. It lies on the northern edge of the Agulhas Plain, about 160 kilometres (100 mi) south-east of Cape Town and 35 kilometres (22 mi) north of Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa.

We were send to this restaurant by our host at the Bredasdorp Manor.
The restaurant was not that busy, but the staff was friendly and the wine menu offers a great variety.
The food was excellent, great value for money.
Do not miss the cheese cake.

At the Black Oystercatcher Restaurant, we live by the season. We serve fresh produce that grows in our own garden as the seasons dictate. As a result, we offer a fresh dining experience, set in a relaxed country atmosphere. Here fresh food, complimenting our boutique wines, is prepared to order and enjoyed at leisure. The seasons also determine the mood at this Cape Agulhas restaurant: the refreshing sea breeze will cool you down in summer, or enjoy our cozy log fires in the winter months.
The Black Oystercatcher had always been one of our favourite restaurants. My wife and I decided to go there for our anniversary recently after we had not visited that area for quite a while. We really looked forward to the beautiful drive and the lunch in such a relaxed environment. Although it was not a terrible experience the quality of the food and the overall service was not on the same level as in the past. We were not even offered an apology, a free coffee or a discount on the meal when we complained. Although the resataurant was busy it was not packed to capacity. On the positive side, their wines are still excellent.

During our stay in one of the cottages in the Hoop Nature Reserve we booked a diner. What a surprise. The quality and mise en place was excellent. Real first rate food and taste. Nice wines, pinot noir, cooled to 8 degrees. Good advise by the manager.
If you are in the reserve you have to enjoy diner here, don't spend your time with selfcatering, how charming that may be, but go for a swim and see the fantastic dunes and come back for diner in the Fig Tree. Whatever you choose from the menu it will be OK with this cooking staf.

Whilst visiting a friend we decided to have lunch. We chose to sit in the small rear courtyard and were attended to immediately. Menus were presented and the order for coffee was placed. The food was well presented of great quality and generous portions. Service was good throughout.

The Nacht Wacht Restaurant, labelled one of the best culinary experiences by food critics from around the world, is situated on the historic Nacht Wacht Farm, close to the southern tip of Africa, between Bredasdorp and the picturesque village of Arniston. Diners at the Nacht Wacht Restaurant can enjoy the lavish cooking of restaurant owner and chef Melanie Albertyn. Melanie creates cuisines that are true to the Overberg, fused with flavours and tastes gleaned from her world travels.
This is a beautiful property with old oaks and magnificent Cape Dutch buildings.Restaurant tucked away at the back.Short varied menu, excellent rack of lamb and good service.Wine list a little short on local reds but Strandveld Shiraz saved the day. Recommended!

We have been to this place for years when we did volunteer work in the area. 'De Groene Kat' (I always told the staff that in the Netherlands this place would be called 'De Groene Poes' which means something completely different in Afrikaans) is a small cafe next to the Spar supermarket and they offer good coffee, cakes and small meals. Very suitable for husbands when their wives are doing the shopping next door.

Had a buffet lunch - soup, 2 Meats, 3 vegetables, rice and baked potatoes plus a selection of salads from the salad bar @ R89.00
This is traditional South African home cooking and worth your money.
They also serve breakfast & lunch from their menu. South African treats like koeksisters, yestervarkies and melktert is also available on your way out. Delicious home baking.

Spoil your family & eat out at Wyoming Spur. We are the best steakhouse & burger restaurant in Bredasdorp. Bring along your kids for some great tasting food & dessert from our famous Spur menu.
We were 3 people walking into this restaurant just after 12:00 the afternoon. Although the manager/owner stood at the reception he did not even notice us walking in. As we were the only customers we sat ourselves down and wait for somebody to pass by. Eventually we saw a waiter and ask him if it is ok that we can sit where we sat. He took our order and after a really long time we got our food. When paying our bill at the reception area it was clear that the manager/owner of this restaurant is not really into people. We therefore like to suggest that if the turnover of this businesses not what it supposed to be, it will be a good idea to get in a people person to balance the current manager/owner.

We had a business pub lunch yesterday, and I must compliment the restaurant on their food and value for money. The R95 I paid for a spare rib, schnitzel and steak, with onion rings and pumpkin was very good value for money. The waiter realised it was a business lunch, and only came to the table when needed. I will go there again for future business lunches.
