Currumbin is still a seaside village with a pristine white beach, relaxed lifestyle and a small local community. The Elephant Rock is an iconic part of this community, established since 1990, and having a complete renovation in 2007 to create a fresh inviting atmosphere. With a spectacular ocean views, friendly attentive service and an innovative menu prepared with the best of fresh Australian produce. The Elephant Rock Cafe has been a favourite of locals and tourists alike, for nearly 20 years.
We recently ate at Elephant Rock Cafe and dined on the Antipasto Longboards w Sicilian & smoked olives, Byron Bay halloumi, chipotle hummus, crusty baguette with Fish Chilli & lime prawns, crispy baby squid, confit Ocean trout. This was more than plentiful for two and the food was sensational. Very casual atmosphere. There is Seating upstairs too which would be lovely. Staff were efficient and friendly. well worth a visit.

Come and sit opposite the beautiful Coolangatta beach and enjoy our trained staff's hospitality and fresh cooked to order dishes. Our kitchen team has put together a great menu for you, look out over the water while sampling our extensive wine list. Don't forget to come up and say hello to our barista extraordinaire who will produce the silkiest Vittoria Coffee crema you've ever tasted.
Dined here on previous visits and loved it. We were keen to eat here once again.
Table service was friendly and efficient and the menu had something for everyone. If you love a coffee or fresh juice, this is the place to go. However if food is what your after, go somewhere else.
Their muesli with fresh berries is amazing but if you are after a cooked breakfast or brunch, be prepared for disappointment.
Two days running I purchased breakfast here. The first day was their famous Eggs Benedict with a side of bacon. The eggs were perfect, the bacon was very cold and greasy and the toast was exceptionally cold and soggy like it had been drenched in water from the poached eggs.
I returned with my family for breakfast on the Sunday morning and my wife chose the muesli , my daughter an open breakfast burger and I went for simple bacon and eggs.
The muesli, once again, amazing. The open brioche burger my daughter ordered was cold and she claimed, lacking in taste. My bacon and eggs was a disaster.Once again the bacon was cold and greasy, the eggs lukewarm ,and my toast wasn't toast. My breakfast was sitting on an end slice of "bread"that hadn't been anywhere near a toaster.
This was a busy Sunday morning and the food took a long time to get to the table as it did also with other diners around us.After the long wait the disappointing food was depressing as this eatery had been so good in the past.
If you want a fantastic location for a long leisurely morning coffee with friends and you want ample time to chat, this place is for you.
If you want good food served hot and in a timely fashion, I suggest you look elsewhere.

We are an elegant casual dining restaurant on the Gold Coast, providing a French inspired menu with an Australian twist.
I have been going here for years and I have noticed several changes - since the new management. The menu is more extensive and I love that, the service continues to be very good and friendly.
For a restaurant that is priced in the fine dining category, I found the food to be trying too hard. The entree was cold but tasty, the mains were average and the ingredients were, I suspect, not top quality as I relied more on the liberal sauces for taste than the produce .
I don’t want this review to turn anyone off from giving this little restaurant a go as maybe it was a bad night.
The atmosphere and service is lovely if you are looking for a quiet little boutique type restaurant.
I must say though, i was disappointed with the food and for a price of $174 for two people I really expected a lot more . If I didn’t know how good this restaurant has been in the past I would have been much harsher in my review - the 3 stars says “average “ and this may have been closer to the ticket
Sorry guys ! Service was excellent but lots more finess in the food is needed to warrant this price

Sometimes you can go to a restaurant and be wowed and go back and be disappointed.
Not the case here. Top Noodle again delivered a delicious Japanese meal at reasonable prices.
We decided on having Ramen this time. Ramen Mabo in particular. It was excellent. Very tasty, a little bit spicy, noodles cooked to perfection.
We also had Gyoza and Tonkatsu Curry with rice. Both were very good.
Service is friendly and efficient. Dining can still be inside or outside under cover. Lovely on a summer's evening listening to the swarms of Lorikeets in the Norfolk Island Pines in the street.
It can get very busy so dont just expect to walk in. They have a queuing system if and when the restaurant fills up. I would suggest it is well worth the wait. We've not had a bad meal here in several trips to Coolangatta.

Kirramisu Cafe & Restaurant Great Coffee, Great Food, Great Views It's the place to go to, when you want to feel at home! Our well established cafe in heart of Kirra is proud to have served locals and tourists since 2007. Our staff have been handpicked to not only compliment the laid back surf culture, but also to provide the highest quality of service we've now become recognised for. Open from daybreak, 7 days a week - that's 6am in the winter and even earlier in the summer, to serve you a hot cup of Dimattina coffee as you watch the waves break along picture perfect Kirra beach. We serve sumptuous breakfasts and lunches every day of the week, with huge variety to suit the whole family. We are fully licensed with a great selection of Australian and international wines, including locally brewed beers! Specialising in high quality produce sourced from the local area and a menu that offers value for money with plenty of well priced kids options. You'd be crazy to not investigate further! We also offer an extensive range of freshly squeezed juices, smoothies and milkshakes. The dessert cabinet is full of a variety of homemade cakes, slices and loafs, including many gluten free options and YES we do serve tiramisu - its where the name came from!!! Kirramisu - it's the little cafe/ restaurant with a big soul - just drop in once, we promise you'll go back again and again......
We visited twice for breakfast during our Coolangatta holiday, on recommendation from a friend. The food and coffee more than lived up to the expectation. Easily the best coffee we had in our entire holiday and some of the best breakfast we have had full stop. However, we had the same server on both days and she looked so miserable and so put out to even be there, that it did sour our visit a bit. At first we thought we had possibly done something to upset her but quickly noticed her unhappy face and attitude with other customers near us as well. I can fully understand that it would be a tough job but making customers feel they are putting you out just by turning up makes a real impact on an experience. We would probably return for the great food and drink but would hope for a better service experience.

D'bar offers a destination with a choice of upstairs of downstairs dinning no Reservations are required Open 7 days from 7am
We enjoyed a tasty lunch in the upstairs room with its louvered windows looking out past the tower marking the state border toward the ocean. The service was fine and the overall beachy vibe was very appealing. Downstairs was an interesting gallery/shop with original artworks; well worth a visit. The downstairs eating areas also looked quite attractive. We'd certainly eat there again when we are in the area.

Made with passion, fresh milk and the finest ingredients. We invite you to stop in and savour the sights, aromas, and most importantly the flavours of our delicious, every day changing menu. Delight in our hand-crafted selections and relax in My Gelato alfresco facing the ocean or enjoy your gelato as your stroll through beautiful Kirra beach
We visited this venue twice then no longer returned.
Dessert was lovely however the owner was rude and not willing to be flexible with any requests. We will not return. Good Customer service goes a long way.

We ordered the family pack and fish bites. The chips were soggy, cold and under-cooked, the fish bites tasteless, as were the calamari pieces. Prawn cutlets over-cooked and tasteless. The only edible items were the two small pieces of fish (and note, two small pieces in a 'family' pack). This business is doing extremely well with customers lining up out the door but I don't know why - we won't be back.
