Bergville is a small town situated in the foothills of the Drakensberg mountains, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It was established as Bergville Mountain Village in 1897 and is now the commercial centre for a 2,500 km² dairy and cattle ranching area. A blockhouse was built by the British soldiers in the town during the Second Boer War.

On our way through the Drakensberg Montains this delightful restaurant took our fancy for breakfast. Very healthy choice of food nicely prepared and a little gift shop to boot!We bought a gorgeous book illustrating the areas we had visited and the photographs are a constant reminder of what a beautiful area this is.Good place too stop on route for a light bite

An early unanned Xmas eve meal.... was absolutely awesome. The venue is impeccable. Varied craft beer and gin menu.. Had the prawn starter was very yummy. As mains kids loved the pizza and calamari.... I have prawn and chicken curry with basmati rice. Was really tasty. Service was friendly and professional. With the amazing looking desserts floating past ... not sure we have the discipline to pass on it.
The Tavern restaurant is open daily and caters for light to not so light meals. the light menu is available all day for you to enjoy at your convenience whilst trying to fit in your schedule around all the many activities both at the resort or within the area.

Whole foods emporium. Banting friendly as well as child friendly.inside and outside Seating. Play area Passion on our plates and in our hearts
I stopped for a light lunch. The informal ambience is pleasant but I was rather dissappointed in my choice for lunch, the thai chicken pie. It consisted of diced pieces of white chicken meat in a curry sauce served between two pieces of flaky pastry. The meat itself was quite dry although the sauce was tasty. I wondered whether the meat had been precooked and added to the sauce just before serving. The bases of the pastry were hard. Served with straw-sized potato chips

Considering the prices of most B&B establishments in the area, the Bridge Lodge offers modern, clean but simple rooms at reasonable rates. The separate bar and restaurant offer good food at reasonable prices so would recommend this establishment as a quick stop over for business or holiday

Coffee shop and Gifts. Freshly baked scones, tarts, muffins and cakes. Sit in or to take away
We stopped here because it came up no 1 in Bergville. The setting is fantastic, open field and cute colourful tables and chairs and quirky things inside and out.
We ordered coffee and mocca - did not know what this is so had to pay for hot chocolate, expresso and cake separately!!
The service was good.
The coffee was terrible. The muffin and cake were absolutely stale. We threw them in the bin. Shocking serving such old food.
Unless they learn to make decent coffee and have fresh stock of cakes - I would not stop again.

If you are looking for awesome food and the best biltong money can buy then you need to stop here. A charming child friendly coffee shop and bistro conveniently situated in the heart of the Drakensberg.
