The menu is vast - you have choices and options and more options with choices. The food is fresh and flavoursome without being pretentious. Pasta, duck, risotto, pizza, meat, etc, you want it you can have it. Portion sizes are fair and you will not walk out hungry. Wine can be ordered by the glass and many desserts available including fondant. The owners are in the dining area the whole time, thus you can ask them (and the waiters) about the menu and options. They know their dishes and describe it to the T.

Cape Town Fish Market is a well known seafood and sushi restaurant group in South Africa
My wife and I tried it out and it also happened to be sushi special night. The staff were great and friendly. We were seated upstairs with a nice view of the restaurant. We ordered a mussel starter as the waiter cautioned us the sushi...MoreThank you for the great review, we hope to see you back again soon. Kind regards CTFM

Fine dining at its best with even better views! Just returned from lunch and cannot praise this place enough. The staff, food and spectacular views are all incredible. Delightfully delicious and served with such smiles. Loved the fact that you could view all the chefs (there were many) all doing their thing in the kitchen. Going back next week for more experience. LOVED it, thanks!

The Hollow Tree on Old Oak was first built in 1901 and used as the farm manager’s residence for the Bloemhof Farm Estate. It was then used as the municipal manager’s residence until the early 1980s, when De Tijerkombuis (related to the Volkskombuis in Stellenbosch) was created in the current restaurant area. The bar area was added in 1994. The building was declared a national monument in the 1980s and still boasts many of the original fixtures and fittings, including the floor, window frames and skirting boards. After further renovations in 2011, the Hollow Tree at Old Oak is now one of the most popular taverns and restaurants in the Northern Suburbs. Featuring several smoking and non-smoking areas, a stunning beer garden (half under canvas) and a children’s play area, this is the ideal setting to enjoy a good meal, good drinks and good company for all ages.
We had decent service, good beer/cider & I enjoyed my burger. My one complaint is that my bacon, cheese & avo burger arrived with no avo & with tomato on the plate (despite me emphasizing that I did not want it anywhere due to my allergy). When I brought up the avo, I was told that they only had hard avos, so I was getting a cheese & bacon burger instead. Had they consulted me sooner, I'd have changed my order to the blue cheese burger, but since this one was already made, I ate it anyway (after removing the garnish). I foolishly assumed that I would therefore only be charged for the cheese & bacon burger, but when I checked the bill, they still had my original order down.
Dear management: in future, if you are out of an ingredient, please consult the customer, & do not charge for that missing ingredient!

Situated in the Willowbridge Lifestyle Centre in the northern suburbs of Cape Town, this Hussar Grill is renowned for being one of the best restaurants in Durbanville. The restaurant's interior takes its cue from the trademark Hussar Grill design - traditional grill room combined with old-school dining. It offers a light and airy outdoor Seating area overlooking the green belt of the Elsiekraal River, where you can dine al fresco style in the warmer weather, as well as a comfortable and relaxed indoor dining section. The Hussar Grill Willowbridge is situated close to the Barnyard Theatre and is therefore an ideal venue for pre or post-show dinner.
After a week of just eating ftom the ocean, my wife and I decided to have a nice steak for a change. We refered to TripAdvisor for help and quickly descovered The Hussar Grill.
We were met by friendly staff at the door, and were seated immediately, since we booked in advance. However, we were taken to a bavk room that looked like an old library, quite small and overcrowded. The doors to the outside were open, but in the corner we were crammed into there was zero ventilation.
The tables were stacked so closely together that we could not have a personal conversation without the neighbors hearing every single word. As luck would have it, we got the loudest couple next to us and two old school friends behind us, and the only word they both knew and used, was f@#k.
Our waiter quickly entroduced himself, got us a round of drinks, then dissapeared! We had to ask another waiter to get the next round of drinks and before the next to please call our waiter so that we can order our food.
When you put on your menu the different ways you cook a steak (rare, medium rare, medium, etc.), at least have a griller that can actually grill.
I will deffinately return when in the area, hopefully to see some improvement.

I was truly impressed by the quality and effort presented in each dish as the prices were extremely reasonable! The fish were clearly super fresh and their cooked dishes were top notch. Being an owner-chef, you can expect he pours his whole heart into his creations and one can taste it from a mile away! Try to book in advance as this is a small restaurant. Also, doing so allows the owner-chef to prepare ingredients according to the number of people. A must visit despite the lack of popularity!

We went there several times as there was lots more choice of flavours at this ice cream shop than any other and they all tasted great!
