What better place to celebrate my daughters 10th birthday who wanted a 'chef' party. Maryke is very helpful from the very beginning to the bitter end. Great service across the board and great with the kids. The kids loved every minute of it and are...MoreDear Jaclyn, Thank you for the lovely review. Hope to see you soon again!

Thrilling outdoor, downhill toboggan track 1,25 km long for young and old! No need to walk. An automated lift will always pull you to the top. Delicious food and drinks on premises. Licensed bar available.
We spent a couple of hours there on our December holiday. We bought the Happy Family Combo, worked well for us, 10 year old went by himself and my husband and I took turns to go with our 6 year old. It wasn't very busy on the day we went so we never stood in a long queue to ride. Was good fun, the operators should just be a little more patient with first time riders and keep in mind that first timers might not go as fast as the rest of the people. It was brought under their attention. Fun outing!

I had been recommended Cape Eco-Tours and was not disappointed. Mariana and an exceptionally qualified guide who will ensure you get to see the birds you want. There are a number of tours on the website, but I wanted to visit specific places while in Cape Town. Mariana came up with a great itinerary for a full days birding.
Mariana collected me from our Guest House by Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. So an early morning start to catch the birds and then we went back to the guest house for breakfast before returning to Kirstenbosch. I am from London, and whilst I know a good number of SA Birds, I really struggle with the LBJs and bird song, that is where Mariana was fantastic.
Because of work being carried out at Rondevlei - one of the areas we were originally going to visit, we altered our schedule and visited Intaka Island. What a brilliant place that was, with sighting of Little Bittern and Purple Heron within minutes of arriving. We then finished our day at Strandfontein Birding Section - now part of False Bay Nature Reserve. This was a place I had always wanted to visit on previous trips to Cape Town, but too nervous (most of time being a single female when birding). Thanks to Mariana this is a place I will feel comfortable revisiting on my own, as nearly all your birding is done from your car.
Again Mariana pointed out many birds - and also providing interesting conversation on the habitats etc.
I would not hesitate to recommend Mariana as a guide if you are keen to get out and see the wonderful nature and wildlife around Cape Town and Western Cape.

Ridgeback offers the perfect experience for wine lovers who appreciate all the finer things in life. Taste our deliciously different wines, presented by friendly and knowledgeable staff in the air-conditioned comfort of our intimate tasting room or, if you prefer, out on the deck, overlooking a dam populated with a range of exotic waterfowl.
Very professional sommelier. Very gorgeous wines ranging in price from the inexpensive but delicious Lion Hound to the Ridgeback HMC. A relaxed place, looking over the bird filled dam, and to taste the wines rather than a sterile room.

At Klein Roosboom the elements combine in perfect harmony to create the enviable conditions that make our wines so special. Our unique terroir allows each grape variety to be grown in the locale climatic conditions that suit it best. Our south-facing slopes are suited to Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. Our wines happily lodge their roots into rich Hutton, Oakleaf and Clovely soils, extracting nourishment from the earth. As the fresh Atlantic breeze cools our vineyards, the crisp Cape air shapes the flavours of the grapes, and in turn, the quality of our wines. We also receive an average annual rainfall of between 400 and 650mm, allowing our farmlands to flourish and thrive. We invite you to discover our piece of heaven that we bottled on earth. Taste our terroir, feel our delicate sea breeze and share our endless passion.
What a lovely surprise to visit Klein Roosboom Boutique Winery !!
The wine tasting is most unique with old wine storage areas converted to individual 'caves' to have a unique wine tasting experience !!!
We ordered a bottle of Jean Sauvignon Blanc which has a lovely bouquet of tropical fruit and decided to try the 2 types of platters for lunch!!
The cheese and charcuterie platter was delicious with 4 different cheeses, a selection of preserves, jams and fresh fruit served with bread and butter
The Twee buffels platter is just as interesting with biltong, droewors, salami pan seared chorizo, olives.. picked cucumber and beet, bread and mustard butter
You also have to try the 'eat dirt ' dessert ... it's amazing
Absolutely worth a visit !!!

We took a township/Robben Island tour with Calvin from Tourassist on 11 Nov, 2010. What an amazing experience. Calvin had first hand knowledge of every site/place we visited. We had my two children with us (15,11) and he really knew how to engage them in the tour. I would absolutely recommend him for anyone wanting a non-tour bus experience. Great Day!!

I discovered Phizante Kraal quite by chance when my drive past it coincided with a craving for a really good cup of coffee. Although it is a wine estate, the coffee and food are exceptional. It is an excellent choice for a special breakfast or lunch, although one needs to check opening and closing times for the restaurant carefully, since they are quite tight.
The setting is farmland more than typical vineyard. The quaint garden and unusual architecture create a peaceful ambience that is a rare treat located so close to suburbia.
Definitely worth a visit.

The drive to this estate mirrors a constant improvement in scenery until. .you reach this lovely garden, surrounded by vinveyards with stunning mountain views.Meal, service and setting faultless!
This is a must-visit for any visitor to the Cape. With the current pound-to-rand exchange rate-remarkable value for money. Our chardonnay-one of,the wine pairings from the tasting menu was the best I 've ever tasted. If heaven is half as nice. I'll be glad to expire tomorrow!
