Went to this place for a dinner as we stayed in the hotel sharing the building with it. It was my first experience with Greek cuisine, and I surely liked it. Large portions, attentive staff, and we were offered a complimentary dessert. Their wine cart features Crete wines which I'd suggest to try.

This restaurant is most easily categorised as different. It serves breakfast lunch and dinner but has a unique feel and style. The menu is entertaining Reading with pictures and humorous captions. Not for everyone's taste, especially those without any sense of humour. I have enjoyed dinners and casual lunches there as well as just an occasional beer - their dark beers is delicious. The service is warm and friendly and the and ambience inside surprisingly better than outward appearances. The food is good, decently presented and tasty whether it be their nachos, steak, or Thai curry. The speciality of the house is a huge baguette Sandwich with a selection of fillings, which I have not yet experienced but appears to be very popular. One of the few venues that plays music although this is not to everybody's liking it makes a refreshing difference for me. Overall good place to visit and value for money. We will keep going back.

Whilst the restaurant doesn't look too appealing from the outside, the inside is very nicely done. Their speciality is their own bred fresh-water fish (the trout is gorgeous!), but they also serve salt-water fish as well as meat dishes. The service is a little bit slow and rather inattentive but very friendly and helpful. Very recommendable.

Other reviewers have said Café Schuler has the “best cake and chocolate on the planet,” or is overpriced and unfriendly to children’s strollers. I find it to be none of these. It has top quality cakes and chocolate at prices that are reasonable for the quality. A sign restricts strollers from the back room, which is carpeted. They permit strollers in all the front rooms. This seems a petty point from a local reviewer. On our visit, every seat was taken. The clientele appeared to be people who regularly vacation in the area and are known by the staff. The waitresses appear to have been there for as many years as the clientele. They have ‘attitudes,’ much as you find in many famous café’s in Vienna and Budapest. On the surface, it seems gruff, but you soon see the wry humor in their eyes. The selection is huge, the quality tops and the service somewhat charming.

Nice food in nice location on edge of the city across the road from the river. Some outside Seating which is ok but it is next to road with river on other side. Had a pizza and pasta , good service

Ice cream for lunch? Why not! The cafe had a great variety, and we all chose something exciting and a little bit different. I had a delicious butterscotch and nut sundae, whilst my friends chose blueberry sundae, chocolate nut sundae, cherry spaghetti ice and a fruit pizza! They were all lovely, and reasonably priced, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit!

We were taken there by a cousin, who's son had designed the lighting, so were prepared for a great experience. The place is very modest looking, but packed, so they must be doing something right. Our food was very good and reasonably priced, so that was part of the explanation. It is very much into the farm to table movement.
