About a 10 minute walk from the old town this hotel has a friendly family run feel with a traditional old rural character with a mostly dark wooden and stone interior. Facilities are basic but comfortable and well maintained. Restaurant we only tried for breakfast which was the usual continental food but good quality and choice. Warning - no English spoken so if you do want to converse have the phrase book handy unless your language skills are better than ours!

Walking down "Orchheimer Straße",the main shopping street in "Bad Münstereifel",you probably will stop in front of the Tudor-style "Hotel Wolfsschlucht",looking even more attractive than similar buildings nearby. It does not take too much imagination,to feel taken back to times hundreds of years ago.The inside of this building looks even more interesting. After passing the "medieval"-looking bar,you enter the dining room.If you wonder about the cooking at this restaurant,a rhyming sign outside will tell you all you need to know "Futtern wie bei Muttern" (Eating like at mother's house). My wife and I,and my sister/brother-in-law,entered this cozy restaurant at approx. 13.30 on a Tuesday afternoon, and we were only able to grab the last available table, all the way in the back, next to a dumb-waiter.This restaurant is the home of the hearty (and generous portions) meals. The menu is a meat-eaters delight: Including Venison Stew,Schnitzel,Wolfsttopf (a 4 meat dish),that is being served in a large bowl.It comes with a choice of potatoes. I can recommend the excellent home fries. All meals include vegetables. But there are also good choices for non-meat eaters, incl. salad plates, etc. The usual beers were on tap. I can recommend a local brew "Klosterbier".Meals arrived incredibly fast.Service was a bit impersonal, but became friendly,if you did not reacted like-wise.There are some odd rules: You are not allowed to hang your coat over your chair. It belongs on some hooks on the wall. And you cannot occupy a table and have only drinks. You will be re-directed to the bar.The owner-lady makes sure, that you obey ALL the rules. Weather permitting, you can sit outside. There you will find a sign "Only self-service outside" (Maybe you can figure this one out !?). Would we return ? Any time ! !

We ordered the “Leberkaese mit Bratkartoffeln und Sauerkraut”. The potato’s were swimming in oil, they were out of the package and not cooked through. They were pale and not like they should be. The Leberkaese was average and burned on one side. Sauerkraut was also out of a can. When I received the plate I hesitated and thought of not eating. But than I thought I am overreacting a bit. After 1 or two hours after the meal I got quite heavy winds.
The food was not good for me. STAY AWAY!
Summarizing. Cheap ingredients. Nothing is fresh. This is not a kitchen but a reheating of packaged food. A disgrace to call this a restaurant.

We were staying right across the gate so this was an obvious place to try. We did however walk around the city. However all the other places open on that evening looked like cheap eats.
Se there we went, and we did manage to have a pretty decent dinner at a reasonable price on that evening.
Place was pretty full but they found us a table and service was still reasonably quick. In December, dining outside was not an option.

My wife and I enjoyed our third meal here and saw no reason to look elsewhere. The food is excellent and the service is also excellent. We will return

This small restaurant at the end of Werther Strasse in Bad Münstereifel was very welcoming to us. It was cold and windy, but inside very warm and very cosy.
Very friendly staff, many local German guests who were also friendly.
The restaurant is absolutely not "chique".
It serves all kinds of local specialties, and also Russian specialties.
My wife had a pasta with goulash, and I had a goulash-soup. Both were excellent!
I'm sure we'll be coming back here.

We love this place. Their food is local cuisine but they do it very well. Their schnitzels and steaks are well prepared and super delicious and their salad dressing is out of this world. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and size of food served. Always very busy you best go early if you don't have a reservation.

The small cafe looked very inviting from outside so we gave it a try and were not disappointed. The cafe offers various dessert, cakes, cup cakes and freshly-made waffles. The hot drinks come with 3 different size which is nice. The prices are reasonable. There are many seats outdoor so you can do some people watching. The owner also provides blankets in case it is a bit cool outside.

We stopped for lunch after exploring this historic walled town. The food was very tasty and home cooked by the owner. Recommended. Many thanks for your recommendation!
