Recommended by the owner of chambre d'hotes where we were staying. This small and pleasant restaurant was all we could of wanted. The hostess was delightful and very welcoming. The choice of menu was good and not too much to choose from, and had several ranges of price.
We chose the 30€ menu, and felt we had really good value. The food was delicious, the right quantity and was presented very nicely, and not over the top. If we lived in the area, I feel this would become a firm favourite. Would recommend to all.

A long time had passed since we were last in Le Patio; so long that we could not recall the quality of the dining. So on this midi pass-thru of the village, we stopped in for lunch. We expected a midi menu or formule with an appropriate price listed, but were handed the regular menu [more for the dinner or large lunch] and those prices stunned. When we asked if they had a midi special, the waiter politely said, "of course; as posted outside...", and then proceeded to explain our choices. We chose the entree+plat.
I went back out into the cold, through the charming patio and to the sidewalk where, yes, we had walked right past the small chalkboard placed under the permanent menu board. There were our options and the price, the extras, and the glass of wine which was part of the price. The price was high for a normal midi, but then, with a well-matched wine, that price would be satisfactory.
I rejoined my companion and we began a superb meal, finely crafted in presentation, textures, gôut, and even temperatures.... and the wine was from the next village and fit perfectly. The entree was an assiette degustation of three hors d'oeuvres -- brandade, salade verte with terrine de taureau, tapenade -- and a timbale of crab bisque. This was followed by a main dish consisting of an interesting and tasty feuilletée d'agneau, soufflé of aubergine, polenta, and fenouil. Very nice !
When I received the bill, I was surprised to be charged for the wine. A polite discussion about the small chalkboard followed and the waiter returned to the kitchen for answers [it was past closing, the chalkboard had been retrieved by the staff, the chef was gone]. All things were resolved; mistakes had been made; yet our service, the preparation and taste of our food we will remember well for a long time.
We recommend Le Patio and the creations from the cuisine of Catherine and Jean-Pierre.

It was almost 3:00 on a drizzly, cold, early October afternoon when we discovered this cozy, little bistro still packed with locals. Although it was after its posted closing hours, we entered and asked a pleasant woman who was clearing a table (an owner, we later learned) if we might have hot soup. She checked with her husband cook and told us there was still some squash soup left from the day's menu. One thing led to another; we had the entire, fantastic menu -- including fabulously prepared cod and a light fruit tart dessert -- and learned quite a bit about the remarkably thoughtful couple and the love they have for their business. The food was exceptionally good; the owners are even better.

I called this restaurant on a Thursday mid day for lunch, knowing it was outside of Arles and expecting it would not be busy. An English speaking woman (I would later find out was Canadian), said that it was completely booked and impossible to fit us in (table of three). Five minutes later we drove by the restaurant to find the parking lot had three cars so we went in. I had my son who speaks fluent French go in and ask for a table. Lo and behold the restaurant was only 2/3 full and never got busier than that.
We were seated and had a delicious lunch. They fibbing hostess approached our table and carried on about her multi- lingual background, we can only imagine she figured out that she was busted!

We thought we might miss this well-reviewed restaurant because our stay in Arles covered Sunday and Monday nights. Unlike many others it was open on the Monday, and we managed to get the last table. The restaurant deserved to be full. The food is excellent and the service is friendly, knowledgeable and English-speaking..

Perhaps I don't appreciate the cuisine of Arles as much as the cuisine of other parts of Provence, but I found this restaurant disappointing, both in terms of customer service and food. Our first choice of restaurant was closed, so we arrived here without a reservation. I understand why we could not sit outside (all reserved), but I do not understand why we were seated at a table that did not get any air from the indoor fan and did not get any breeze from outside. We were told we could not change tables, but nobody sat at the tables closer to the fan while we were there. Later, the waiter poured a glass of the sparkling water we ordered, and a bug floated up to the top of the glass. He did quickly replace the glass, but neither he nor his supervisor were willing to replace the sparkling water (which was not inexpensive). They did comp my wine, but I would have preferred to have the water.
The food was not terribly special. My starter was chevre, which turned out to be a tasteless, whipped concoction covered with a tomato puree. Without a doubt this was the worst starter I ate during our 2 wks in Provence. My duck was good, not great. I like my meat completely cooked for safety reasons, so perhaps a little bit of tenderness got lost in the cooking. My husband said his beef was a bit chewy, as well. Our vegetables were delicious, though. My husband enjoyed his dessert, but I did not try it.
Prices are on the high side of average, and I did not consider the experience worth the price.

A multicultural experience. The decorations in this restaurant brings you a lot of places all over the world. Also the food is not just pure frensh cuisine, but the some have also an international twist. I liked it a lot! Very good and just a bit different, but still recognisable. Also local dishes available. Efficient and friendly service.

We had a table in the front garden, nicely flowered and quiet. We had for starters the verrine d'avocat/crevettes, fingers de chevre and the crème brulee de foie gras, all delicious. For mains, we had the pave de noix d'agneau and the punta de lomo de cochon, both cooked to perfection. Everything was so delicious we didn't have much room for dessert. We decided to share the coulant de chocolat noir, soooo good !!
The service was discret but efficient. Overall, a fantastic experience.

We liked this restaurant so much, we ate here twice during our week in Fontvieille - on both occasions, it was busy with locals (couples and small groups) clearly enjoying their meals. The waitresses were exceptionally friendly and hard-working. In UK-terms, the ambience reminded us of a quality, stylish gastro pub. My beef special was particularly delicious, while my husband declared his duck special his favourite dish of the week. The fish mains we ordered were also very tasty, but we did think the fish portion sizes were noticeably less generous than the meat dishes.
