Enjoyed the dining place - ambient, live music, excellent Seating area, over watching sea, friendly servers, welcoming management team - a total package is top class when you add the quality and price of food. The owner representatives escort you to the place of eating and very visible presence making sure service is right and customer is happy.
Please do note the quantity of the serve is huge and literally one full menu is more than 1 person so do not get fazed by price . Every penny worth of it. Service was a bit slow but overall performance overshadows that.

This joint is rather uneven, possibly following the change of ownership, and I've given it the benefit of the doubt. The service in the large but reasonably inviting bar downstairs (with weird oil drum furniture) was efficient but not friendly, whereas upstairs in the restaurant we were served with a smile but the food didn't all come at the same time. Similarly, the cooking was up and down - my tuna tartare was not tuna and rather tasteless whereas the entrée of calamari with potatoes and aubergine was stellar. The wines were very drinkable with some decent white Bordeaux and the beer was nicely chilled. Inside was fine but, if you're not in a large group, the Terrace looked a more attractive bet. It was pretty quiet for a Saturday night by the by.

Had a delicious dinner here. I had the zebu (beef) sliced fillet. It was the best meal that I had in 12 days in Madagascar. The service was good, but not great. We thoroughly enjoyed the setting near the beach. My wife had a vegetarian pasta that was just ok.

We were surprised by how good our food was - we ate dinner here twice and had excellent food both times, enjoying dishes including duck with green pepper sauce (outstanding), vanilla chicken (subtle but good), zebu, and a coconut pie (more like a dry tart, but good). The prices were somewhat high by Madagascar standards (12,000 - 19,000 for the main dishes we ordered), but very reasonable in euro terms, especially considering this was at a lodge (where prices tend to be higher), and especially given the food quality. Based on other reviews, I suspect quality might vary based on what you order - possibly our experience was good due to ordering Malagasy dishes.

Visited the place to eat food with colleague and to get first hand experience of lots I heard about it. Food quality is good. Friendly and efficient services. Prices are reasonable and easy access . Excellent place to pick up visiting girls to accompany you with little fee for service. Place is very crowdy and so the music level. I fail to understand the complacency of the owner (nice English speaking person) to uplift the condition. If you are a man looking for something more than food please visit. If you have children or genuine girl friend - not sure if I recommend it.

Breakfast is quite good, with fresh croissants each morning, one option of fresh fruit (varied by day), and eggs to order.
Lunch and dinner menus were the same, so we usually just ordered a bowl of delicious carrot-ginger soup, along with a beer and fresh bread.
Dinner (if you're on a meal plan) is a 3-course affair. Limited options, but lots of food. We never made it to dessert, which looked good - but again way too big a serving.
If you weren't on the meal plan you could order a la carte from a menu that offered a few more interesting options. We were delighted to be allowed to use our meal plan dollars equivalent for the 3-course options for the a la carte options. Since we never ate 3 courses, that allowance let us order what we wanted with no additional charge. That meant we could get delicious shrimp skewers, yummy gingered fish, etc.
Full bar, with cold beer, but a somewhat limited and expensive wine list. However, they also have a variety of local infused rums, including lychee, baobob, vanilla-ginger, pear, and more. Nice for sipping after dinner (instead of dessert).
Thoroughly enjoyed the food and service here - for every meal.

La Braiseis an excellent eating place. I have been hearing from my colleagues and Tamatave residents for some time. Food quality is very good. Susy Burger is an unique food and must try. However with Pizza probably I had too high expectation which was not met.

Pretty good place for food! Pretty good place for drinks! Pretty good place for meeting with friends, eat, and drink!!!
We've been there several times and every time it was a lot of fun. The music is also quite flexible. The DJ will play all special requests and such. The facilities are clean and nice. The staff is very friendly.

We have eaten here most of the time whilst staying across the road at Feon' ny Ala hotel. Prices are very reasonable (7000 ariary for a huge American breakfast!) and the food is very tasty. We have enjoyed all our breakfasts, dinners and lunches. What made this restaurant very special for us, is the very personal and heartfelt service every time. The waiters were always smiling and so nice and polite! From this point of view my favourite restaurant during our trip to Madagascar. Definitely a real alternative to the bad service and food of Feon' ny Ala.
