The Chinese people were very excited by this. They called it 'Moon Bay" for its half moon shape. I am from the part of the U.S. where we have lots of oxbow rivers so it was not too exciting. If you are not it might be. If you are going by, stop, if not, there is plenty more to see. Note a few days ago it was in the 90's and 87 percent humidity. If its hot out, standing along the road to check this out may not be worth it.

I went to Likeng for trekking at the village around Wuyuan County, to enjoy the autumn. The trail between Likeng and Kongguan village is a very hard walk. Suggestions: prepare a trekking pole, sports shoes and tough willpower. But the natural scenery in autumn or spring is very beautiful. Enjoy!

The hike was easy. Not necessary to take the cable car up as that would defeat the purpose of enjoying the walk and breathing the fresh air. Was there in December, thus less green and less water but nevertheless, the view was still awesome. Truly enjoyed the serenity as throughout the whole trip up and down hill, there were just the 3 of us.

Canola, also known as rapeseed, blooms in terraces and along the roadside all through this area in March. The area around Wuyuan is known as the "most beautiful village in China." if you visit during the bloom time, you will believe it! Great old villages and amazing countryside views.

The Rainbow Bridge (Cai Hong Chio), built during the Song Dynasty (960-1279), is one of the best preserved and most beautiful roofed Bridges in China. Located in Qinghua town, Jiangxi Province and 20 km from Wuyuan where beautiful and quaint ancient villages are aplenty, this 140m long and 7m wide bridge in simple design is an architectural masterpiece of 5 corridors and 6 pavilions. Having missed it in our 2010 Jiangxi Tour as it was closed for repair, we convinced our Tour Leader to let us visit it this March 2012. We took in its spectacular sight! A truly worthwhile visit as we also got to challenge ourselves crossing the swift flowing river beneath it while taking in the beautiful landscaped surrounds!. A memorable must see if you happened to be in Wuyuan!

还不错, 南方的与世隔绝很喜欢,村子和北方的不一样,希望有机会再去南方玩,山里的瀑布很小,但是能在瀑布下面玩,跟团去的,时间很短,但是好像自己去很不方便。

The place is really nice and peaceful specially not on a Chinese holiday when its really not recommended to travel. I also had the chance to enter at night time which is a lovely experience by its own. The locals are very nice and hospitable like most local Jiangxi people.

Think there are nicer villages around. A lot of the old homes which were opened for tourists had doubled up as souvenir shops. Beyond the courtyard, we could not explore further.

not worth the time. once you get in, you have to walk through 500 meters of stalls of merchants before even getting close to the village (they loop around like an airport security line). once you get through these, you will get to more stalls in the village peddling their similar merchants. you have to walk 1.5km to upper xiaoqi to see a less commercial village. even then, every other house is a make shift hotel/bed and breakfast. there are very few tourist in upper Xiaoqi as it takes 20 minutes to walk there.

this is one of the less commercialized towns, it is basically one street along a river. most of the nice looking buildings are built recently. the river water is clear, but the banks are filled with garbage. it is in the combination ticket, but not worth the time in my opinion.
