THE LONGEST CHURCH OF THE NETHERLANDS The great fire of 1552 destroyed much of the medieval church of Saint John. Shortly after the disaster, the council commissioned the reconstruction of the most startling church of Holland. With 123 meters it is also the longest church in The Netherlands THE 72 STAINED-GLASS WINDOWS ARE WORLD-FAMOUS Entering the Church of St. John, one falls silent at the sight of the majestic space with the 72 world-famous stained-glass windows. That first experience will only get stronger when you see the marvellous light by the 'Dutch Masters' invading the Church. The rich history of Holland can be read in the large windows. It is a beginning of an impressive discovery along biblical and historical scenes of human emotions. Then you understand that the Gouda St. John is one of the highest rated attractions in the Netherlands!
Worth a visit to see the stained glass windows which are amazing. Good visitor audio system in different languages.

We booked a day trip last Tuesday ,unfortunately on our way to Carabao island when everyone is all set and on the Big boat, the battery failed, somehow the staff assigned to check it,neglected a basic task...where's the standards?Mngmnt has no immediate and clear plan B,in short we have to return to the shore & mgmnt opted to do some adjustment. We eventually decided not to join the plan attempt to wait & reschedule it later that day,on a different, less tested boat.
Nevertheless,I would like to recognize the gd gesture of the owner and boat manager while we were stranded in the sea providing us some drinks and snacks,+ rtrng back our money.
Sh#@* happens and it could be worst

Entrance fees are already steep, so why charge exorbitant €6,95. We're not located centrally so parking fee feels unnecessary.
That said, we arrived in the afternoon. With our Museumkaart free entrance. Great addition to the museumkaart!
Quite a stunning place. Nicely laid out by era. We did a quick tour around the park but next time likely will spent some more time.
Gladiator show nice for kids, skip it otherwise.

When you visit Boskoop in the Netherlands, you definitely have to come to PlantenTuin Esveld. PlantenTuin Esveld is one of the most well-known nurseries in Boskoop. Our nursery is one of the few in this village that has public access and sells plants to individuals. Come over and strawl along thousands of different species. You can buy plants for your garden or just take a walk through our Japanese maple garden. The Japanese maple garden was founded in 1865 and houses a number of very old beautiful trees. The fairy-tale like location is worth a visit.. and the good news is... it's totally free to walk around the premises. Besides walking there is a possibility to go on boat trips (reservation required, €5 pp) and have coffee, lunch or homemade pastries in our coffee- and teahouse.
PLANTENTUIN ESVELD offers rare scrubs and trees and offers species that can be bought at few other nurseries. I really enjoyed the collection of japanese maples in the "ACERETUM" maple collection. There is a collection of lonicera and azalea as well.

We rented a boat to go around the canals and the lake. It was fun and a nice slow cruse which was very relaxing two hours.

The city hall of Gouda was completed in 1450 and is the oldest gothic city hall in the Netherlands.
The city hall is in the heart of Goudas market area. When we first arrived it was surrounded by the Wednesday markets. But by 6 o'clock they had packed up and we were able to see the whole building. It's nice to walk all around the building.

I went on a Saturday morning and the market was bustling with food and other vendors. Great location on the main square.

Een van de drie in Alphen, Boskoop en Waddinxveen.
Door de druk bevaarde Gouwe staat de brug nog wel eens open zeer tot ergernis van vele boskopers.
Maar ja mooi blijft het
