The Overloon War Museum is the biggest WWII museum in The Netherland. Right here, the tank battle of Overloon unfolded in the autumn of 1944. The village of Overloon was totally devestated back then. In order to remember the casualties and victims of that episode the museum was founded in 1946, even before the village was rebuilt. Nowadays over 100,000 people visit the museum every year. The first exhibition is about the occupation of The Netherlands from 1940 till 1945. The second large exhibition, displayed on 10.000 m2, contains over 150 military vehicles and artillery, both from allied forces and German. In addition to these two main Exhibitions there are several smaller presentations, of which the Battle at Overloon presentation is definitely worth a visit. A museum restaurant and a shop completes this museum, which can be found in the so called Liberty Park in Overloon.
The Overloon museum is in fact composed by different military museums. There is a first part concerning the life in the Netherlands during the Second World War in which every day’s objects are presented. The second exposition theme represents the three most important battles of the western front: the D-Day landings, the Operation Market-Garden and the Battle of the Bulge, all of them with full-equipped dummies, weapons, guns, fighting vehicles (like the tank destroyer Hetzer, the Sdkfz 250, the tank Sherman and the M3 half-track) and even a Spitfire. After that, there is a huge collection of artillery shells form all calibres. Then you can find a section dedicated to the battle of Overloon, a big tank battle that took place in October 1944. The largest and final part of the exposition presents a great number of military vehicles, tanks, motorcycles, trucks, planes, guns…as for example a Sherman crab tank, a panzer V Panther, a B25 Mitchell bomber, a Renault FT17 light tank, a V1 rocket, a small U-Boot “Biber” type, the giant amphibious cargo LARC. The ticket for an adult is 15,00 €. This museum is a must for all those who are interested on military history.

Was there for a EuroNASCAR race. The banked oval is just large enough to allow for decent racing. There is also a 400-meter oval track for hotrod racing. You can get close to the action whils still being save. The cantina is nice, although the choices are a bit limited.
Look at their website for events.

From the road you can’t see anything of the cemetery, but when you enter it, you see the thousands of crosses, which is very impressive. It is impossible to see the whole cemetery at once, it is too big. It is best to walk to the central cross.
In the building is a small exhibition about the cemetery and the history of it.

A lovely place to visit on our holiday. Centred around the strawberry fields where you can pick your own (for a small charge), they have built a beautiful little world to explore. With activities for both children and adults to complete on the way round, you can fill the best part of a full day. Play areas are dotted all over the area for the kids and there is a lovely cafe for light meals and of course everything is served with a strawberry!
If you complete the activity, you get a little gift (kids get a gift anyway).
The only down side was the price. Before we started looking around, I thought it was very expensive, but there was a lot more to do than we first thought, so the price wasn't as bad as we first thought, but still a little more expensive than I would have expected.

Toverland it great fun lots for younger children and big rides too. Best thing about toverland that other theme parks don't have as much of is the indoor and outdoor attractions. There are 2 large indoor warehouse spaces full of rides they are connected by a dark walkway with fake tree trunks but beware the uneven ground in it with toddlers we had a fall so hold hands and it's fine. There's lots to do inside the first one has chair swings , a snack bar , spinning cups , a magic house where the kids get wands to point remotely at points and magic stiff happens very nice little attraction, indoor coaster and the second one has a fun house which my five year old LOVED he wanted to do this over and over also the toboggan ride is good in this area as this is only 2 people per go it has a long queue but worth it a nice extra is the photo on this ride gives your finish time as it is a real type toboggan you have some influence on your track time with a lever you pull and there is an online score chart . Another snack place in here too and a huge climb frame with long slides . And a traditional carousel and a funny ride that's like on a bean stalk that swings you upwards.
The outdoor areas are very nice too on a sunny day my kids favourite bit is the stepping stone type area in front of the Fountain show they loved splashing in the puddles. There are horses that go around a track that younger kids can do behind the swinging pirate ship .
It's a very visually appealing park everything seems finished to a high standard.

Take some time out to visit this Museum.
It is a large set up, with an overflow of things to see. The overflow is at times a pity as in some parts of the museum you can't really have a look. As this Museum keeps extending there is always something new to see.

We went to Irrland whilst holidaying in Holland. For 6 euro a person it is a great day out with slides, trampolines, Playgrounds , paddling pools , an animal farm and much more. The purchase of beverages and ices are cheap compared to other parks although hot food selection is limited but that is because they provide 100s of BBQ for people to use and either buy the meat from the park or bring their own . It is brilliant well thought out park and wish we had something like this in the UK

This place had rough times and a bankrupcy. If the start of this season Is a sign, it Is back to misery. There was not enough staff at the entry the petting zoo was not ready and the restaurant in the back ( containing the AED) was closed. The Stones at the White Buddah were loose so I almost fell. Maybe Hire some gardeners to clean up.
I hope they will clean up their act
