I came here with the family, it is lovely to walk around, better on a afternoon/evening time! I was a little bored but maybe I came at the wrong month. It is great for younger children.

This is one of the things you can't miss in Sulaymaniyah. That was a prison, now turned into a museum but you can still imagine and feel how horrible it is. Especially the sections about migration, genocide and the actual cells where the inmates where kept are impressive and must be seen.

This superb museum is a timeline of Mesopotamian history dating back to the Palaeolithic Age from 15,000 BC. The museum is divided into three galleries. the first hall is about craft works and daily life of Ancient Mesopotamia, the second one represents archaeological artifacts in chronological range until Classic Period, and the last one starts with that period and ends with Islamic Periodis a chronological. Most of the exhibits have Kurdish and English signs.

City Star Mall is not a mall per-say! it's rather a Supermarket with a department for clothing including: men, women and children's clothing, a playground for the kids, a fast-food restaurant and a cafe. There is also a small booth for Camel Active men's clothing.

Beautiful lake nestled under the Sara Mountain. Many people from Sulaymaniyah and Erbil go there on the weekends for picnic and sightseeing. There are restaurants near the river serving masgoof. The lake is dammed so water is calm with occasional speed boat. It's a great place to spend the day on weekends. It's about 40 minutes from Suli and 1.5 hour from Erbil.

This used to be one of my favorite places to go but now there are so many other options in Suli. The food court is what usually drives me to go to this mall. I rarely shop here. There is also a nice grocery store in the basement that almost always has a supply of ziplock bags.
