We had a lesson and 3 hour hire booked through a third party voucher site. Very easy to find, parking for the day at the beach was cheap. natural sea pool, good waves for body boards, cheap car park with a small shop with an amazing array of stock, small coffee caravan, clifftop walk to various bays including fox cove, anyone not enjoying this beach has gone to Cornwall for the wrong reasons.

Looking for a surprise for my partner, I knew horse riding would completely surprise her and fulfil her long lasting wish to ride again.
As we had booked a 4night stay in Cornwall I thought this would make it even more special if we did it here in beautiful Cornwall...
I searched and searched and came accross Tina s place and with all the really lovely reviews I knew this was the place to go....So we exhanged a few text and calls and it was all booked in...Then I procedeed in booking a really lovely dinner for the evening to round it up perfectly.
All our days were filled with planned activities and bookings as in Cornwall you just have to not to miss out as it gets busy, and also because I have cancer get tired easily and it takes the stress off of things.
On the way there we where both so excited even though I was going to keep it secret until getting at Tina s, it fills me with joy when I see her eyes filled with happiness. We were driving
down to a nearby beach to have a light snack and I had noticed a couple of missed calls, but when we stopped I had also received a text this was 40mins prior our 2pm session.
I was devastated, I was having to tell my partner that her surprise present of HR had been cancelled, because Tina was her sisters birthing partner and she had gone into labour. Total shock!! I was so upset.
So I send a text back expressing my complete disappointment, and how notice could have been given prior so I could have booked else were, that it is not ethical to take a deposit and booking (don t reckon I would have received deposit back if it had been the other way around) when something like this could happen.
The text I received back was pretty insulting to say the least, considering I this had ruined our plans, me giving back to my partner in the most wonderful way, to say thank you for holding me up when I m not strong.... "Shouting ..Are you been serious????? How could I know this was going to happen!!!!!!" Ect...ect.... I thought it was very unnecessary to speak to a customer like this and that obviesly she was under a lot of stress, but that as a business you have to be proactive in planning. Of course you cannot expect when a baby is going to be born, unless C section is booked. My point was that when people are expecting or been part of something like this, they would plan a week prior and after to have cover , as yes babies arrivals are very unpredictable. So somoene should have been on stand by, or a warning should have been given prior taking my deposit, totally unacceptable.
This was our last trip until nxt year hopefully, we had no other plans for the day except for our meal, which we ended up cancelling as I had been so shaken it took all my energies away, Im still a week later not recovered. And it was just too late to drive to another attraction.
I had an... I apologise... on my nxt txt on the grounds of Tina thinking I was attacking her business.... But this was not an apology for the inconvenience and stress/dissapointment caused.
She had mentioned after I had requested a deposit refund, and the fact that I would not book there again, that we could have our session the day after.... But I had already expressed that we where going home then... Not that it would have made any difference but nothing was offered as a suggestion of a discount or anything, which is again not the kind of business I would support, kindness and understanding and generousity goes a long way, treat others like you would like to be treated..
I am very sure that all happy customers will continue to be very happy there, but watch out as if proactive planning is not put in place there maybe other situations that Tina will not be warning you about and will clearly leave you in the dump, really I should have charged for my time to have been wasted.
Value all your customers the same to avoid dissapointment...

I was really impressed by the proifessional running of this small, friendly buisness while on holiday in the Padstow area.
My 2 kids attended Pit Piarates Kids Club for an evening, although the weather wasn't great, they loved it and came back woth lots of stories. The bonfire and marshmallows were a big hit!
