Shoreham Harbour Lifeboat Station is a large modern working lifeboat station located on the south coast of England. It houses one of the Royal National Lifeboat Institutions modern 'Tamar' class all weather lifeboats. It also houses a smaller 'D' class inshore lifeboat. The station is set over three levels and is fully accessible as there is a lift to all levels. The station is open to the public, Monday to Friday 10am to 2pm and also on Saturdays and Sundays 10am to 4pm. There are always visitor guide's on hand to show visitors around the lifeboat station. Entry and guided tours are free of charge. Group visits Welcome, please contact the lifeboat visits officer for further details. There is ample free car parking directly outside the lifeboat station. Alternatively Stagecoach bus route 700 'Coastliner' operates a regular service between Brighton and Littlehampton and stops almost right outside the lifeboat station on Brighton Road.
Visited during a quiet time and had a superb tour of the station. Saw the powerful seaworthy lifeboat and the in shore boat as well. The children were able to dress up in a play corner. Delightful, knowledgable gentleman showed us round. Very interesting, kept the children's attention fully.

We had a great time there tonight but we're not happy as our 2nd go was cut short by 4 minutes, as we pulled into the pits I looked at the clock and it said we had 4 minutes left! I asked the marshal why we had be brought off early and he said the clock was wrong and took me to the computer next to the track and said 'see' then corrected himself and walked off when the clock was 3 SECONDS out of time not 4 minutes!!! This is appalling to ruin people's fun by taking a 1/3 of there track time off them for no reason then trying to justify it and being wrong and having no explanation then walking off.
When I returned home I added up the lap times on both my score cards, the first being 14 minutes the second being 10.5 minutes.
I'll be contacting them tomorrow to complain.
Other than that it's great fun and a good night out.

A really nice place for everyone and of all ages including young children. A small cafe is located inside the park. There are several food options within 5 minutes in the adjacent shopping complex. Bus options as well as parking options are available. During spring to Autumn, you can experience the cute Hove Park railway at a very small fee.
The children’s play areas are well equipped and reasonably well maintained.

Walked from the small car park at the foot of the Beacon, just outside Ditchling (surface a bit rough and uneven but ok) You can choose to drive up the hill to the NT car park but this was more fun. Got the blood flowing on the walk up before a gentle walk along the Downs to the Jack & Jill windmill...which is the best value attraction I have ever been to....more on that later.

My sister and I recently visited the Gardens and the tearoom.I DON'T think the website makes it CLEAR ENOUGH that neither the ticket kiosk NOR the tearoom accepts ANY type of payment other than cash.Lady at the kiosk said someone earlier had said same. The Gardens were beautiful, albeit could have done with a bit of tidying. In the Terra Cotta garden, the central feature is a Fountain...that wasn't working.A very pleasant lady told us that it hadn't worked for about 2 years! Very disappointing.
The tearoom advertises LAST ENTRY 5PM. We went in there at 4.30.It wasn't overly busy. There's little choice on the menu and we quickly ordered tea.scones,cake.We waited a good 15 MINUTES,and then just the cake arrived.I then heard the waitress tell someone they had run out of scones! 5 minutes later, our scones and tea arrived. It was now about 4.55.The girl confirmed we had the last 2 scones. All very tasty though WARMED scones would have been nice.At 5.20,the waitress asked if we could pay the bill as they were waiting to cash up! We paid it. At 5.30,they very politely asked us to leave! I think the very pleasant girls were Harriet and Jess? I know that the kitchen relies heavily on volunteers, but if you want everyone out at 5.30 DON'T leave it 15 minutes till you put ANY food or drink on the table and, more obviously,DON'T let people in until 5pm! It's quite offensive to be asked to pay 25 minutes after you have started, then 10 minutes later, being asked to leave.Apart from "CASH ONLY" not being very well advertised, and getting the bum's rush in the tearoom,it's well worth visiting and i will go and see the house soon.

Ropetackle Arts Centre is a purpose built community-run arts venue that attracts some of the biggest and best performing arts events in the UK. Situated in the heart of Shoreham, West Sussex, our goal is to stage events for all tastes and all budgets for the good folk of Adur and beyond.A registered charity, and staffed almost exclusively by volunteers (including our Trustees), Ropetackle Arts Centre is run by and for the local community. Friendly, welcoming, diverse and fun, we guarantee a great night out at a fair price. Our superbly equipped auditorium performance space seats 220, or 350 standing. We have a separate mezzanine space (for small events or meetings), two well-stocked bars, plus a large light and airy foyer which houses our in-house cafe.
Have been here on various occasions to see a concert this being the Brighton Beach Boys doing a tribute to artist who had died in 2016. This small venue has a bar in the waiting area as well as one inside the venue.
As there were 10 of us we had reserved seats which was great as we only arrived just before the performance was due to start so was nice and easy. However not normally reserved Seating unless a group booking so can be difficult as this is a popular venue.
Run by volunteers which all credit to them is great and a really benefit to Shoreham.

We took our 2 grandchildren 5 and 10 for a day out on the beach.
Lovely safe sandy beach at low tide and a grassed area behind with a good activity playground. Nice café if you want it as well. Will be going back again to chill whilst the children have great fun.
Parking was only £1.50 for the day, but it does fill up quite quickly.

Brighton City Airport is the UK's oldest fully operational licensed aerodrome and remains at the forefront of general aviation in this country. Built in 1934, the Art-Deco Terminal Building is Grade II* listed and is still in everyday use by business, training and pleasure flyers alike including many visitors from Europe. Many of the fixtures are original including the Whispering Gallery on the first floor and the main window design above the main entrance. In addition to aviation, the airport has also appeared in a number of high profile films, such as the Da Vinci Code, Poirot and more recently as Vienna Airport in the Woman in Gold, starring Dame Helen Mirren. During the summer of 2015, the airport played host to the inaugural Wild Life music festival, with headline acts such as Mark Ronson and Rudimental. The event also won the Best New Festival award in 2015 and brought significant benefits to the local economy. The Terminal Building also houses the Hummingbird Restaurant which includes an outdoor Seating area where the whole airfield can be viewed. The Terminal Building underwent an external renovation to take it back to its former glory, which was completed in 2015.
I've left a separate review about the excellent cafe at the airport, but just wanted to give a shout out about the museum in the building next door.
The museum hasn't been open when I've been to the airport for Sunday breakfast, but it was open on Monday when i went with family and friends. It's run by volunteers but needs donations for its upkeep, but certainly worth a few quiz in the collection 'bomb'.
The museum gives information in the airport from its earliest days, through WWII and the commercial era of international flights. Some great exhibits and friendly staff too.
Definitely worth a visit.

Lancing's remarkable Chapel has a very significant role in the lives of pupils and of the school community. It symbolises the importance of Christian worship at our school and has a major influence on pupils’ strong sense of moral and spiritual awareness. Please note: Open 12-4 on Bank Holidays and Sundays. CLOSED on Christmas day,Boxing day & New years day.
We could see this huge, imposing building on the hill so decided to investigate. Follow the sign off the main road to St Botolph's Church but then turn in to Lancing College and follow the signs to the main car park. It's free to visit...MoreThank you for your review, moot. Glad you enjoyed your visit. That is a good challenge to spot what is missing...will await response from people!

North Laine has such a great variety of shops, including some quite quirky ones which are just great for an amble round. There are also some lovely unusual coffee shops and places to grab a bite to eat and sit and people watch. A fascinating part of Brighton and one of my favourites.
