We used a local radio promotional offer to book a three course meal from a set menu. service was friendly and very efficient,we had a delicious roast dinner which followed starters of home made soup (really good) and egg and prawn mayonais. There was a very good selection of desserts too. Enjoyed the view over a well kept garden area. Will definitely return!

The Arun View Restaurant is situated beside the River Arun, and has a great atmosphere whether you are eating inside the light and spacious restaurant, or enjoying a relaxing drink outside. You can enjoy the views of the River and watch the boats moving out to or returning from the sea. The menu is varied with a good choice of food, which is well presented and very tasty, and is excellent value for money! There is live music on certain evenings, and the staff are helpful and polite. This venue can cater for large groups, and I have personally enjoyed the good food here when attending functions of forty people for a local Company. Due to it's popularity, Car Parking can sometimes be difficult, especially in the summer.

Okay, so we had struggled to find somewhere for lunch and it had got to nearly 4pm, so we were famished, but that still doesn’t completely account for how awesome these fish and chips tasted. Lovely staff too. Highly recommended. Yum.

Recommended by friends so decided to give it a try and we were very impressed. Friendly, welcoming atmosphere, efficient service and delicious food. Considering the standard of cuisine it was also very reasonably priced all served in relaxed pleasant surroundings. We had the set lunch menu. Plenty of choice and all delicious. Will definitely be returning soon.

Came here with disabled friend. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Put a ramp down for her wheelchair and gave us a table suitable so she could stay in her chair.
Food was lovely, huge portions and freshly cooked, everything was perfect and definitely planning a return visit. Thanks to all concerned.

Welcome to our little, English gem by the River Arun! Te key quality food is good ingredients. Tat's why our crab is staight fom te boat, why we choose lamb reared on te lush roling pastures of te nearby Sout Downs and why, when we do have t tavel frter afeld, our beef is sourced from only the finest Scottish herds. Had two courses of the lunchtime set menu including the Mussels chips and dips and a Deep fried Brie with cranberry sauce. Both nicely presented, tasty and good value at £11.95 for two courses. Good service as well. Check the opening hours on their website as lunchtime is restricted.

The Woodman Arms is a beautiful example of the traditional, 'roses-round-the-door' country pub. Boasting a stunning thatched roof and surrounded by fine Sussex countryside, it's a blissful place to enjoy good food, company and liquid refreshment.
We were looking forward to going to meet relatives for lunch after a few years from a previous visit, however, it was very disappointing. Staff and ambience were fine but the food was not - liver and bacon was overcooked, vegetarian curry was dull and small, fish was over cooked, apart from the chips. Desserts were also poor. Apart from that prices were exceedingly high compared to comparative local restaurants Will definitely not be returning. As it was a reunion we did not feel it was the right time to complain and did not wish to upset the friendly staff.

We loved this cafe. Great breakfasts and especially desserts and really friendly service. This is a proper English sea front restaurant and ticks all the boxes. It seems to be popular with locals, apart bizarrely from Nobby below, and I think that is always a good guide of how good a place is.
We were told Fred's is the place for Fish and Chips but this runs it very close.

If you like traditional cafe breakfasts you will love this. It's a superb example of the genre. The breakfasts are fab and frankly I can't believe how cheap everything is. Good bacon, excellent pancakes, decent bubble and squeak. Definitely not fine dining, but brilliant cafe food. They are also doing Zebra sausages at the moment which sadly I didn't realise until after I had eaten my breakfast! The place is nicely done up with funny film stuff, particularly Harry Potter and Jaws. Good service from the traditional youngsters who work in cafes.

Stopped in for dinner and while surprisingly quiet, I couldn’t fault the service or food ordered. A decent choice with some of the normal pub style food but also others to choose from. A decent selection of beer and wine.
A lot more modern in the restaurant compared to other pubs in the area. Would recommend for a good value meal.
