After spending a day at Jale beach, where it was not safe to swim, this beach looked very safe. As the name implied "piscina" (swimming pool), there were at least two places well-protected from currents so that even kids could swim.
For us, however, it was a rainy day and it was not conducive to spending a lot of time there.
The area was very attractive and we enjoyed taking photos instead.

Cafe Bar in the center of Sao Tome City, open from 08.00 To 24.00. Ancient colonial house with beautiful fresh garden. Diversity of local and international drinks, cocktails. The speciality is the local flavoured (spices and fruits) rum, named "Gravaninha". Natural juices and smoothies. Free wifi. Serves pizzas, hamburgers, sandwiches. English, french, spanish, portuguese and capverde creole fluently spoken. Local handcraft shop downstairs.
The Bar house is a very relaxing place to go with some friends. The decoration is vintage with african touch - masks and local handicrafs. I super recommend the Gravaninha if you want a alcoholic drink and Cajamanga juice for alcohol free option. Must visit

We make tours to know the Cocoa and Coffee farms, the Waterfalls that exist inside the island, the way of life of the locals and the wonderful Beaches of fine sand and turquoise blue sea.
Excellent tour guide. He gave us to know São Tomé, by the colors, smells, history and life. Rabbi is a friend who contributed to a very well spent vacation with my daughter. Thank you Rabi for the fabulous tours.

In an island with many Waterfalls, this one is particular nice. It is quite tall and roadside (albeit a dirt road) so that it is easily accessible. It appears that you can go swimming at the base of the falls but I would wary of that.

Sao Tome doesn't have many touristic places to visit so nature is the best thing that you can admire, which doesn't mean that it is not worthly.
Pico Cao Grande i a needle-shape volcanic plug peak, which is known to be climbed only three times by expert climbers. It is situated in the Obo National Park and is 668 meter high above the sea level.
It is usually covered by the clouds that are always in the south of the island. When you get the first glimpse at it you cannot avoid exclaiming a surprise. It's really breathtaking. A wonderful of the nature.

Despite the road, this beach is worth visiting and spending a day with family and friends. Good for kids and a great swim.

This fort has several restored rooms which are quite interesting. There are good views from the top of the fort. The extra Exhibitions are a bit dusty. Of note, you cannot wander around yourself. You must be guided by the museum keeper. Also, no photos in the exhibit rooms. They were quite strict about this when I visited.

A fabulous location with beautiful walks which arent too stressful although the pathways are unkept and in the rain very uneven and you need decent walking boots.
The small botanical garden is lovely and a wide rage of plants.
Probably one of the best locations to see abundant birdlife, we were warned of snakes, particularly cobra, but thankfully didnt meet any
