Dog sledding is dreaming of true Wilderness adventures far from civilization. Behind the team, on the sled, only yourself, your loyal four-legged friends and mountain silence and quiet - nothing else. Haukeli Husky offers guided dog sled adventures at the borders of Hardangervidda. Our goal is to give people genuine Wilderness experiences; experiences they can not easily find elsewhere. Welcome!
Very bad experience, not serious people. Had a booking 2 months in advance, double check 2 weeks before the date and they didn´t come up. We were waiting 1 hour at the farm and later a woman come and told us at first that it has been a misunderstood, when I show her the mail with the confirmation she told me that they had got lost with the dogs... very strange.

The starting point for any visit to Morgedal, this is a striking building which houses a multimedia journey through skiing's history with special attention paid to the skiing revolution which developed out from Morgedal in the 1850's. You can explore the museum on your own but a guide is highly recommended. Displays inside the museum include a big screen pre-show depicting the development of skiing over the last 4000 years, Morgedal in the 1850s, a ski making workshop, First to the south pole, Norway's first ski wax factory, Olympic flame history and displays and a wide format, 3 screen telemark ski film that will give you the urge to strap on some skis!
Norwegian Ski Museum is highly recommended to visit when in Morgedal. Here you'll learn everything you need to know about the Norwegian Ski history. It's also worth witnessing the 17 metres long skis on the wall outside (Norways longest skis), as well as the statue of Sondre Norheim.
There was a lot of stuff in the souvenir shop, and the walls were nicely decorated with paintings and souvenirs everywhere.
You can also enjoy a very nice meal at the Innsvingen Cafe/Restaurant next to the souvenir shop. Reasonable prices and friendly staff.

The sculptor Anne Grimdalen - best known for her work in decorating Oslo City Hall - grew up at Grimdalen. Today, Grimdalen is a protected country courtyard featuring houses from the middle ages and a sculptore house exhibiting works of Anne Grimdalen. Every summer, the exhibition of sculptures is supplemented with paintings by famous artists.
We came upon this outdoor museum by accident on a road road trip through Norway. It's worth spending a couple of hours exploring. Ann Grimdalen's sculptures are really good, and the outdoor museum and beautifully preserved wooden buildings are very interesting and educational. I would also recommend the hike up the hill. When we were there in late July the wildflowers were very pretty - take a camera.

THE CULTURAL HERITAGE TRAIL starts in the centre of Fyresdal by the museum in oyskogen. You can choose whether to do the entire trail (Folkestadbyen + the circuit via Saukro and Bryggjeparken) or just one of the loops. The whole trip takes just under one hour at a leisurely pace. No special footwear or level of fitness is required – the tour is suitable for both families with children and elderly people. Most of the trail is suitable for wheelchair users.
The old buildings in the historic site are beautiful and interesting! Enjoy your lunch and a cup og coffee from the nearby cafe.

Bindingsnuten is a mountain, in the village Flatdal, in Seljord municipality, where the peak is 760 meters above sea level. There are marked hiking trails over the Mountains, the most popular hiking trails are from Asanvegen 15, in Flatdal. The terrain is easy from the start with steadily rising terrain from the slope.
Great trip with beutiful view of the Flatdal landscape.
The walk up to Bindingsnuten takes 2 - 2 1/2 hour. You start at 160 meters above sea level (at a parking lot), and the top is at 767m, so you have to climbe more than 500 meters. However, the path is not difficult.
At the top you have a fantastic view, if the weather allowes.
Bring some varm clothes and good footwear and the trip will be troubleless.

This aprox 800 years old Stave Church os scenicly situated above a small pond and surrounding farms. Nearly black from traditional tar treatment of the wood boards the church have carvings and during the season have guided tours innside it.
There is a small graveyard surrounding it, and one of Norways constitutions of 1814 founding fathers are buried here.
The grounds also have the West Telemark Museum wich exhibits several very old wood farm buildings.

A place for the entire family! We have a magic carpet for the kids, friendly green and blue slopes, beautifull red slopes and black offpist. 150km cross country trials. Here on the edge of Hardangervidda everything is in place for you to have the best winter holiday ever. Come join us at Rauland Skicenter and enjoy the snow with all the others
Get for beginners and some harder runs too for the more experienced. The staff in the ski hire are very knowledgeable and happy to help.
Easy approach to the resort and easy to park. We took 1 day ski passes and one day ski hire, we were on the slopes within 20 minutes of being there.
Great scenery, if your looking more for a beautiful and scenic view, this is a great resort to visit, but not if your looking for the very challenging runs or a wide selection.
It was perfect for us!

The church was built in the romanesque style at some time in the 12th century. It is dedicated to St Olav. On the north-west corner of the church a face has been hewn. This, according to legend, represents the saint king. Another legend says that the church was built by a goblin. When the building was complete the goblin fell to his death. To this day no grass grows on the spot where he fell. The church has an altarpiece from 1588 and a font from the 17th century. Under the direction of the Inspector of Ancient Monuments and Historic Buildings an extensive restoration was carried out which was completed in 1972.
If you want to go to church and experience something different this is the one. A beautiful old church. The denomination is the Norwegian state church, Lutheran with bells and whistles that go with that, I often attend this service when in Norway. The setting is superb with beautifully kept graves - gravestones surround the church wall to wall.
Huge chunky stone steps arranged for the entrance, and 2 rooms make up the church (with an upstairs gallery) the congregation in one and the priest straight ahead in the other through a narrow archway - a church that I am always wanting to take the chainsaw to, to see what the priest is actually doing (unless you sit on the inside of the pew.)
