Filled with hawkers and people exploiting and abusing Sea Turtles. You can hold one and take a photo but these animals are being abused and held captive until they die. This is blatantly illegal as they are a protected species and are endangered. Take a pass on this one.
You take a boat taxi there and are immediately set upon by the hawkers. The locals don't care that they are exploiting the turtles and even offered to let us "set it free" for $300. It would likely be caught again and re-sold. The tourists are ignorant of the issue and feed into the practice. Shameful.

This is the Venue where, annually, Heads of State, captains of commerce and industry, top brain academics of all fields converge to discuss, debate and decide on matters that has wide reaching implications on the world we live in.
Apart from the picturesque photo-taking site, there isn't much really.
The elevated Fountain spew jets of water upwards. The falling sprays then flows down steps that surrounds the Fountain. The entire Fountain is fringed with plants. On each side of the Fountain flutters flags of participating countries on flagpoles. In pride of place is, of course, one's national flag... whichever country we belong to.
This is the only place on earth where the national flag of Israel is hoisted just next to the national flag of Indonesia (the largest muslim country in the world).
Behind the Fountain is a raised metallic orb featuring the relief of the map of the world.
For our photo-shoot, step-platforms are provided - just in front the scene. Cool.
Although rather simple and man-made, the aura of power pervades the senses. It brings feel-good vibes knowing this is the centre of gravity of governments in the area. It brings a calming sense of satisfaction just being there.

be wary of taking young children as it gets pretty steep in places and the steps can be narrow and uneven. view from the top is nothing special and couldnt see very far anyway due to the ever-present gray haze

A nice, unrealistic village, done up for tourists, plenty of restaurants but not much else, owes it's fame to a visit by the Presidents wife.

Beautiful area, though hard to find with poor access roads.
On arrival at the lakeside there is little parking, not really a problem as there were no people.
There is a small viewing area with some pleasure boats, which had definitely seen better days, but no crew or notices saying if and when the boats operated.
There was no way of getting around the lake that we could find, no paths at all, not even rough paths. There were some good views back along the road woth taking photographs. Overall not worth the effort
