Consisting of 400 restored buildings from the 16th- and 17th-century Spanish colonial period, this area in San Juan is steeped in history with an old-world and romantic European charm.
We drove through both San Juan and Old San Juan in a private bus on a time schedule, so we had no time to stop except VERY briefly. It is a city with both an old and a new part, full of lovely old Spanish architecture as well as modern buildings, and areas filled with "local flavor". Some parts had been damaged by the recent 2017 hurricanes, and that was sad to see. There is so much potentially to see and do. I wish we had had more time. When you are on a cruise ship tour, you get at best a brief overview. I like to take this kind of tour in a foreign port when I know I have very little time. At least I get the flavor of the city. Perhaps I can return one day.

A surprising gem that we found to be a highlight of our vacation. The scenic drive was part of the experience. The individualized tour given by Carmilo gave us true insight into the growth and production of truly fine coffee. As a committed tea drinker, I was skeptical of tasting black coffee, as suggested by our tour guide. However, this coffee did not need any enhancement. Smooth and rich! Try the chocolate samples with coffee beans, and you will want to take some home. Delicious! Thanks, Carmilo, wonderful !

My son (17) and I (47) have never kiteboarded. We loved it! Juan at 15 Knots made it very easy to schedule with only 2 hours notice, and Freddy was simply a superb teacher. Both my son and I were successfully kiteboarding after 2 hours. We can't wait to do it again!

A pleasant beach on the northern coast of Culebra.
Although the small places to buy things are still closed, you can rent an umbrella, which is recommended! The route there is golf cart friendly, but it's not the smoothest ride....This beach is just stunning, and that's from someone who is accustomed to the beauty of Cape Cod! The surf is considerable here, this is a dynamic beach (unlike the calm serenity of Zoni). Parts of it are still closed for walking.

Hacienda Carabali started 1972. As the years have progressed we have expanded to give great service to tourists and locals by our ATV, Horseback Riding, and Mountain Biking Tours, Restaurant and our Go-Karts Track!
This was my favorite thing we did on our 10 day trip to the Caribbean. The guides put safety 1st, and are very friendly. Fernando was very personable, and even took pictures when we asked at the river. The rainforest and river are just beautiful. Don't be afraid to visit Puerto Rico due to the hurricane damage, the people on the island are wonderful and friendly, the Beaches are beautiful and the rainforest is something to see and enjoy.

My husband and I visited this island for the first time in July. We spent a weekend there and had such a wonderful experience beach hopping. The water was so clear in all the Beaches we went to and the scenery was breathtaking. I can't wait to go back!!! I visited Tamarindo, Flamenco, and Zoni.
