Culebra is somewhat of the anti-tourist destination, harboring no large hotels or flashy vacation bells and whistles. The beaches are stunning stretches of white sand, great for sunning, windsurfing and diving. The culture and architecture are just as colorful as the waters of the bright blue sea. Stroll around downtown for a truly quaint afternoon activity.

The title is "good enough" because, just like many reviews before me, I do agree that the service is slow and they may not have the best customer service in town, HOWEVER, this is the only bakery/panaderia in town, and Culebra gets SUPER busy with tourists and visitors, so it's bound to get full easily. Breakfast is really good though, a bit more expensive than any other bakery in the main island, but I guess they can get away with it since they are the only ones that do it over there. Also the place is not very big, so even if there were 9 clients inside it will look crowded.

How this place is number four boggles my mind.
I took 3 other guys there on a business retreat weekend. First, our server didn't understand but maybe 9 words of English. Ok We are in his country, speak Spanish, but it is a tourist destination for Pete's sake. Know your customers.
After 4 trips to the kitchen to ask what different words meant (like "dressing" for our salad) we finally got our orders placed. We shared 2 appetizers, 2 pitchers of white sangria (tasted like a pitcher of fruit juice. No wine or alcohol at all), got 3 lobsters and a grilled mahi. Keep track, because you will love how this ends. We attempted to get side salads, but that never materialized.
When our apps arrived, about 20 minutes after we ordered, they were very well presented and nice size portions. The taste was very nice and we enjoyed them thoroughly. We did have to ask for additional PAPER NAPKINS because ours were dirty and ripped and needed replacing for main course.
Next we expected main courses to arrive. That did not occur for an additional 35 minutes...over an hour after initially ordering. We played with the cats that were literally EVERYWHERE in this restaurant while we waited. Not sure what health code that complies with...
The lobsters were presented well, but looked like they had been grilled with excess butter and the flare up of the flames left a soot on the very delicate meat. This was true for all 3 lobsters. Lost maybe a quarter of the meat because of the grease fire taste.
The island mash was non-inspiring and the salads were non existent, like previously mentioned.
The mahi was presented well and was a nice portion. Island mash, see above. Salad, see above....
By the time we had waded through this mediocre meal, we just wanted to leave. We asked for the check, which took 15 more minutes and the server put it down on a table of UNCLEARED, EMPTY plates.
Now for the fun part, the check was $350.00!!
Paper NAPKINS, incorrect order, cats everywhere, blah food, poor service and long wait.
They charged us $68 for a 1.75lb lobster. $35 per pitcher for over glorified fruit juice (sangria), and salads that didn't show up were $6.50, oh, but we did get the dressing, just had nothing to out it on.
Maybe it's the island way, I don't know. I have only traveled to 38 different countries around the world. Maybe I don't have enough experience. Whatever it may be, this place was a colossal disappointment on basically every front.
Don't waste you time or hard earned money. There are much better places on this amazing island to eat.

The crab cakes were great. Food was good, a bit pricey but you are on an island so resources cost more!! The atmosphere was fun and relaxing. The restaurant is open air and over the water. There is a large school of tarpon that hang out there and they like your scraps. Added benefit is you can feed them.

I'm glad we came here early for dinner because the place began to fill up shortly after we were seated. I had the eggplant Parmesan sub and it was decent, althoughI would have liked a little more sauce. We also ordered the Boricua pizza and it was surprisingly good. The plantain and ground meat had that savory-sweet thing going and the chopped basil gave the dish a wonderful aroma. The pizza took some time to arrive though. The service was pretty laid back. My husband's bottled water came frozen so they just gave him another one.

We came to El Eden based on good reviews in Culebra. We did not have Reservations and with lucky somebody canceled and the owner went to the parking as we were leaving and gave us a nice table. Food, service and atmosphere is amazing.

It is a small restaurant with simple and basic Seating arrangements. The owner takes the orders and serves the food while his wife cooks in a little attached kitchen. They have ample choices for drinks. Food menu is not too big as I believe everything is made from scratch once you order. It is fresh. The food tastes wonderful. But you have to wait a little longer than other places.
We sat at the corner table with another lady. She was a friend of the owners and was very knowledgeable about the local Islands. We had a pleasant conversation with her about various issues. The owner didn't seem too friendly at the beginning. However he was a nice person and very humorous. We were the last customers and the wife who cooked us the wonderful food joined us with her food. And it felt like dining with friends or family.
We'd definitely visit this place again but remember they accept only cash and do not expect any great ambience other than fresh food and welcoming people.

Cueing up for the ferry to Fajardo, we fortunately met Hector, a seasoned (36 year) transplant from NYC, and his wife of 37 years, Peri from NC. Peri's small pastry shop near the terminal served the most delectable flakey goodness ever. One chorizo and guava pastry wasn't enough! Organic apple filled muffin with a caramel drizzle and the Nutella and chocolate pastry, and ice coffee, heavenly!! Sorry Starbucks, you can't hold a candle!
During our short visit with Peri and Hector, they made several calls on our behalf to arrange transportation for us from the ferry terminal in Fajardo to the CVS to obtain some forgotten meds. Their assistance was invaluable, and their kindness much appreciated!

Zaco's Tacos is a small mexican restaurant and bar. We are located in the main town in Culebra.
Good food, reasonably priced, well stocked bar, cool vibe. It's a favorite with locals and tourists alike! The menu changes nightly - adding some delicious specials depending on what fish is caught! If poke is on there, get it! Not open on weekends.
