We read the reviews of wineries before coming to Mendoza. Tierras Altos was the only one I booked, after Reading many reviews. It was definitely the right decision.
Daniel & Freddy, met us upon arrival, with a wonderful rose. Then discussed their family’s wine making and educational philosophy.
We have been to Napa/Sonoma, along with other wineries in the USA, however we have never learned more of not only the wine making and tasting process. We left feeling we could become sommelier’s - it was that informative!! And oh by the way it was very easy & enjoyable all while tasting the best wine we have had in Mendoza!
I can not say enough about how hospitable & helpful both Freddy & Daniel were! There kitchen was closed so they took us to a competitor that had a incredible lunch with tasting.
This place is a MUST TRY!!!!!

Bodega Cruzat. Bubbles Experience

Cruzat is a winery intended only for the production of quality sparkling wines, produced using the traditional method or "champenoise" (second fermentation in the bottle). The winery was founded in 2004 by a group of Chilean businessmen and by Argentinian Agricultural Engineer and Winemaker Pedro Federico Rosell. WINE TOURISM The experience of knowing this "factory of sparkling" goes beyond a tour and tasting. From the winery we strive for visitors to learn, identify and compare with other elaborations and process. The production area is open to our curious visitors; you can see and sometimes work at the cellar, the disgorging machine and label some bottles. The tasting room is oriented to the Andes Mountain and vineyards. We propose that our visitors enjoy and learn from what we do every day.

My Wife and I visited on our honeymoon and loved the time we spent here. We initially visited on a wine tour (for tasting only-which BTW is totally worth it) and after seeing/smelling the kitchen we decided we had to return for lunch. Service, ambience and food were all top notch; we had the beef ribs and the pork- both were delish. The wine was the best we tasted while in Mendoza; our server (Eugenia) did a great job explaining every aspect of each wine. The wine maker/owner was around too and checked in few times to make sure we had everything we needed. A specIal shout out for the honeymoon bubbly and desert they hooked up; Can't wait to return!!

Carmelo Patti is clearly a local legend. Other vineyard staff talk about him and his wine with awe. And he spent much of our brief wine tasting showing us newspaper and magazine clippings about himself and his bodega.
Unfortunately as our Spanish is rudimentary we didn't feel we got enough information to truly appreciate the wine tasting.

Los Pingos Horse Riding

We believe in equestrian tours as a way to know a wonderful animal, the horse, and at the same time to interact with our culture, the gaucho life in the mountain and other people of the world. We like to share our traditions through the guitar and singing around the bonfire after a delicious “asado”.Activities:½ day - Full day - Sunset - Full Moon

We did the sunset ride. We were collected from our hotel in Chacras (outside of Mendoza but on the way) taken to the vineyard. We spent a few minutes getting settled. Then Laura explained how to ride etc. There was a mix of beginners and experienced. It felt very safe, the horse are well cared for and beautiful surroundings. We did a two hour ride with a stop for the sunset at the top. It was beautiful from start to finish. Views were great. Quite chilled but a little trotting. We then returned for a yummy asado. Lots to eat for everyone. Only 8 of us so intimate. Laura spoke good English and gave us info about the area. It was a really lovely evening. Great value for money and I can highly recommend it!

True Argentinian experience not to be missed. It is set on a farm with Seating outside under vines. Charming atmosphere, great service with excellent country cooking, most produced on the asado out back. The 5 course lunch showcases the truly excellent wines. The fixed fee of 750 pesos per person including wines & coffee represents good value.
