Beachside coffee shop & bistro, located on breakwater beach, Brixham Serving breakfast, lunch and evening meals everyday.
We have eaten here twice during our stay in Brixham and been very pleased on both occasions.
The first time was on the evening of Friday 9th February where we found the food to be beautifully cooked, nicely presented, efficiently served and reasonably priced.
The second time we went was for the Valentines day special. The menu was imaginative, the food was again excellent, the service attentive without being too servile and the price competitive.
On both occasions we were impressed with the efficiency of the service, (Anna and the girls were brilliant), and the managements hands on approach.
We'll be back next time we are in the area.

Enjoyed lovely fish and chiips, served with mushy peas and tartare sauce. We had hake, as recommended by the very friendly proud chef.....my hubbie had it grilled with shallots and herbs, and he said it was some of the best fish he had every tried.
lovely beer too, had the local lager on tap, can't remember what it was called but very delicious! staff were very attentive too. thankyou very much

The Guardhouse Café offers superb locally sourced food and drink in one of the South Coast's most stunning locations, Berry Head Nature Reserve with panoramic views over the South Devon Coastline. Only a short walk from the car park the Café is open daily from 9am to 5pm (4pm in winter) for coffee, tea, drinks, breakfast, snacks & lunch. Fully licensed, children friendly and dogs are welcome.
First visit, ordered the Guardhouse breakfast which was lukewarm, the sausage tasted dreadful and was deep fried, the bacon had a strange sweet taste and everything was swimming in grease. Can't say I wouldn't go back as it's in a lovely location but will stick with a coffee next time and eat somewhere else.

"Upstairs restaurant licensed with some lovely harbour views. Delicious fish & chips, good choice of menu. Can also eat same delicious food in adjoining downstairs cafe".
Being familiar to us we decided to try somewhere different for breakfast. After being ignored in one cafe we left and decided on the Brixham Cafe. First impressions were of a clean orderly establishment. There were a couple of tables on the pavement and the frontage wide open giving wonderful views across the harbour.
The breakfast that they call 'The Regular' was huge. It was presented with toast on the side and a coffee all for £6.25. Service was friendly and polite. They welcome dogs and even offer dog treats on the counter for our furry friends. We will definitely return and have already recommended it to friends.

We enjoyed visiting five restaurants in Brixham, but the Lytehouse topped the lot. I see all recent reviewers have given this small establishment five stars, and no wonder.
Early diners can choose two courses for only £15, three for £18. With great value like that, don't fail to spoil yourselves by taking the flight of wine for £15 - five small glasses of wine chosen by the enthusiastic and knowledgeable proprietor to match your food.
After excellent starters of leek and potato velouté (a creamy soup) and a very light mackerel pate, we had gnocchi - good but maybe not the best choice on the menu - and Turkey breast with bacon and mustard. This was the first night it was on the menu - it's sure to be a winner. Turkey may not be the most interesting meat, but this was beautifully complemented by the dabs of crispy bacon and the sharp sauce. Delicious.
A simple Irish coffee pannacotta - not overwhelmed as it can be - and ice cream completed an excellent meal, and our hostess was prevailed upon to include a port as the fifth wine choice, not normally on the list, but a generous gesture much appreciated.
The restaurant, a short walk from the harbour, is quite small, so perhaps good to go when it's not busy. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Millie and Me is a brand new Coffee Shop in the heart of Brixham. We set out to create a warm and welcoming yet quirky space which reflected our personality and ethos. We serve delicious, fairtrade 'FatRoc' Organic Coffee, home made cakes, and pies, and freshly made paninis.
Great find just off of the main road. Visited as a family for tea, toast and tea cakes. Beautifully decorated, nice and clean and friendly staff. Had a really nice laid back atmosphere. Will definitely be going back for afternoon tea, the homemade cakes look amazing!

Thick, succulent crab sandwiches sitting on the quayside at Brixham with the sun blazing down on an October day; glasses of prosecco and smiling, helpful staff. What could be better? For the price, spot on. Lots of flavour, maybe a bit of pepper and lemon could have lifted the crab even more, but I'm being very picky.

Here we have other fish to fry!
Another meal at Ayur. Always delicious. While we were there, seven visitors came in, sat down, looked at the menu and marched out again. Why? No biryani, no vindaloo? It’s not a British-Bengali-Indian, it’s an Indian-Indian. Subtle. Nothing like you’ve had before. Do try it.

We are an unpretentious restaurant serving great food. We have local fresh fish and terrific steaks from locally reared stress-free animals. Choose a bottle of wine from our carefully selected range, all priced below normal restaurant prices. We make our own bread and desserts. All in all, we can give your tastebuds a great workout. We welcome adult diners, but regret that we are unable to offer facilities to children under 12 years old. We no longer respond to reviews, as they are now being manipulated too frequently.
Well now you can take it to the bank that the meal you'll get here is a topper, as Lora screamed out to the elderly couple she saw at the door coming in as we were going out!!! Sally and I brought the clan there as we traveled last fall, and were quite pleasantly surprised. James from our hotel recommended it (I should have tipped him for that), and Sally was hesitant to bring children to anywhere named after hypersexual disorders, but we did, and we were glad they were exposed. The kids ate everything, thanks to bringing them up with the policy of finish your plate or children starve in the Congo. We all had seafood and cheese and some excellent tart. I know what you're thinking: Tart at the Wench??? I know, but not in the ribald way. It would be grand to host a birthday party for a loved one there. Cheeky pints for all (sans the children).
