Diving birds and horses might disturb this peaceful place. It is somewhere to go to switch off, but don't expect internet or phones to work. You can cut yourself off here completely.

Beautiful, silent, cozy beach. Long stretch, so always a nice quite spot you can find. We walked for 15 minutes, away from Mancora side, and found some nice beach chairs we could use when we bought a drink. The water has a perfect temperature and its clean. A grwat day out. A tuktuk from Mancora costs 7 sol (3 people). We go back tomorrow.

A beautiful church from the outside, with a wonderful ornate and spectacular interior. Well worth the time to visit, and explore its many areas where hidden treasures are often discovered.

Plaza de Armas in Piura is very nice, there are always people walking and sitting around it, there is a lovely vibe, specially at the weekends, the main square is the city centre, the only downside could be sometimes you can see some female and male prostitutes. During the day is a very good place to sit, relax and see people passing by

Old pictures, replicas of letters, furnitures, brought us back to the past for awhile, to know more about Miguel Grau, his life and his family. All explainations are in Spanish, no guide offered.

Lobitos is a weird town, once home to a now-abandoned military base and site to many oil rigs. It´s growing, and home to excellent surf and pretty sunsets, but still lacks in infrastructure (restaurants, stores) and easy transportation (it suffers on Sundays). But it´s a hidden gem among other Beaches in Piura, and highly recommended despite being off the beaten path.

Went in to ask about fishing trips, and was told there were none available, but they tried to sell me a trip swimming with turtles. Now I am totally opposed to this interaction with wild turtles, who then become used to human contact, which puts them at severe risk of harm, and told the shop employee. He asked if I was a qualified biologist, and more or less told me to shut up and get out when I said I was simply a very concerned individual.
Very rude and unhelpful.
