Pargas (Finnish: Parainen) (Finnish: Länsi-Turunmaa and Swedish: Väståboland in 2009–2011) is a municipality of Finland, in the Archipelago Sea. The big limestone mine in Pargas is the base of the main industry, while there are still significant rural areas. Except for the central parts of Pargas, the municipality is mostly rural.

Artbank is one of the best and most interesting Salvador Dali museums. It is located in the small archipelago city of Parainen. Artbank features Dalis lithographs and statues. If you visit Artbank, request Teddy to do the tour - he gives you a full feeling of Dali being there with you.

The Parainen gray stone church goes back to early 14th century. The started to build it in 13th century, the oldest part is in the part called Agicola chapel. I read that the chapel runs as a church museum nowdays, but we didn´t have time to explore it this time. The lime paintings on walls inside the church were made little later, in 1486; they were painted over for some decades. The altar was made in 1666. The pulpit in the church is a copy of the original, which was made by Måns Larsson ( a master of wooden carvings from Turku city) in 1686 and is now stored in the National Museum in Helsinki. The church was last restaured in 1960´s.
This is nice place to stop by if you are interested in old architecture or history overall. The doors are mostly open every day for the summertime, so you can drop by as you like. The church is situated in the old town, so take a walk nearby to see the idyllic area (called Old Malmi) of wooden buildings too.
