Little hotel and restaurant that is run by elderly boheme couple in Old Town. Beautiful building outside and when you step inside, "adventure" begins. Dark, mysterious place, during wintertime they usually have fire at their fireplace, old cat hanging around and owner watching tv in one corner. So overall interesting place to visit, but I wouldn't eat here, because they keep their cakes and buns in the table "all" day, even on warmer days. Service is quite moody, depending do they have good or bad day

I've visited this place many times, but this time really was a terrible disappointment. My daughter's char was tasty but my pike perch was absolutely terrible - I had to send it back to kitchen and I really really don't do that easily. First of all it was raw. And second sure enough it wasn't Finnish pike perch. The piece of filet was way too big! So it was some imported white fish that was left so raw it was disgusting. I ordered risotto instead. But what was even more disgusting than the fish was the service we got. We got no compensation what so ever! First my daughter ate alone her dish, and when my risotto got to the table I ate alone as she had already finished her's. And I had drunk my glass of wine long time before the risotto came. So I probably should have bought another glass priced 8,50 euros. Bottled of sparkling water cost 3,80, so the bill of two main courses, a glass of wine and two waters ended up costing 61 euros as they gave NO compensation for messing things up. Not even the pity free coffee that seems to be the standard compensation in Finland... which by the way doesn't even begin to compensate a fail of this level. The only right thing is to bring the main course for free... or at least pour a bit more wine on the house to compensate the quite a bad mistake of the kitchen. But nothing. The waitress that started with us did not even apologize. I'm really really disappointed. I would give one star to everything else but the lovely view gets another. But I do come back as I love the view from the Terrace but really think twice if I ever ate here again. Maybe I just drink the 0,33 L bottle of sparkling water for 3,80 e.

Le Soleil is located on 2nd floor in Naantali Spa, right next to their Thai restaurant and evening restaurant(dance, bar, terrace). They have a la carte, but personally I like their buffet more. Last time with our company they had large selection of starters, mains and especially great desserts. Quality ingredients, tasty food and good enough service. Because Spa is so popular, make sure you have a reservation if you wanna have a dinner. Not the cheapest option in Naantali, but worth of money considering location and quality.

Premises are nice. Naantali Spa is indeed a nice resort (although the Spa premises are pretty basic though...)
Beautiful view to the sea.
....but let's be honest, apart this the food is just average and absolutely overpriced.
I am pretty surprised to read so many positive reviews for this restaurant.
Where is the Thai food? Do you call this 'Thai food'?
Let's change the name then of the restaurant in something more 'International'...
Service is basic and rather slow.
Go there if you really wanna waste your money.
you can have better food than this in the nearby Turku or Helsinki for HALF of the PRICE.

Unfortunately for me I only found this restaurant on the last night of an 11 night stay.
The staff made me feel very welcome and explained all the food options available. I chose the buffet option and was so glad I did. The selection consisted of chicken, roast beef, pork, meatballs and a selected of vegetables including peas, carrots, fried, baked and boiled potatoes plus a salad bar to choose from. The food was excellent, full of flavour and cooked very well. I was also informed that it was an eat as much as want buffet so managed to taste all the options and was not disappointed by any, as said previously the food was excellent and very reasonably priced.
The building itself is a beautiful, comfortable wooden structure by the marina. I will definitely return to Merisali and next time it will be on the first night of my visit and not my last night.

Pohjankulma is authentic Finnish buffet restaurant in old school (my father used to go in that school). The building is well renovated and has nice feeling. The buffet served on weekends is great and has plentifull of different traditional Finnish fishes available. Sometime the warm dishes include specialities like moose or deer (mostly serve traditional meat).
Pohjankulma is definately worth a visit for traditional Finnish dinner.

No, you will not just visit Old Smuggler. It is remotely located in Teersaari, next to cable ferry dock. But if you are heading to Archipelago ringroad - do not miss this place!
Really relaxing atmosphere, good service and tasty pizza. During the summer there is live music on Friday evenings.

I wrote year ago that "charming restaurant in beautiful Finnish archipelago" and that last part is still true, but unfortunately that first part has changed. Every year we visit this family runned restaurant/hotel and hope that owners can turn this into profitable business. Unfortunately owners have changed several times in last 5 or so years and after our latest visit, it's hard to think that we will come back. Terrace was almost empty when we came, bigger party was leaving and female owner/manager was talking with them and didn't even say hello to us. In table next to us was half eated hamburger, ashtray, empty glasses etc. for a long time, despite waitress and male owener/manager passed by several times. It's understandable that when you run a restaurant on an island, that some drinks or food ingredients run out. But it was almost embarrassing that every drink/wine we ordered was finished. And when I finally found one, waitress bought me wrong wine but still charged that more expensive one! Why not print paper or write in chalk board that currently we only have this and this. Then came our meals. There were 4 of us, that are used to eat outside almost daily and we all were absolutely disappointed. My ribs were so chewy, that I have to use knife to get a little bite. My wife's cold fish platter didn't look or taste fresh, my friend's chicken wings didn't have any sauce and one of us got his asparagus to his platter 5min later, when "chef" brought it BARE foot. That chef was the only one by the way who said "I apologize". So 4 unfinished portions later, we paid our bill. No discounts, sorrys or bye, see you next times..

This is a nice pizza restaurant, in a cosy place. The menu doesn't surprise too much and the food itself even less. Salads are nothing to be proud of and the service is typical traditional Finnish - very cold. Cannot be recommended to anyone, expect those with hunger and in a need for a quick pizza and beer.

No wonder service has always been so friendly, owner David Mbing from Cameroon(speaks fluent Finnish) was selected most positive person in Naantali! He still makes those delicious muffins, cupcakes etc. by himself and his African food is always tasty! So I definitely recommend this to everyone
