Not at all engaging and neither informative... All you see is some packing operation behind glass ceiling and some verbal info from guide ... it is not worth visiting even if you have nothing to do

Ours was a visit to Dakor temple by car with friends who were regular visitors to this holy temple.Started from Ahmedabad by NE and reached Dakor by National highway.Smooth ride and boardings all the way.Google is also a reliable alternative.
On reaching Dakor, expcept on holidays and days of festivals, you can take your car quite close to temple.Depending upon your entry point, there are parking lots created by locals where you can park the car and walk the rest of the way to temple. So avoid weekends and festive days to have a quiet and peaceful darshan.
The temple is in the midst of the city surrounded by walls and you are easily guided to this place. The inner place offers you a holistic feeling and you feel blessed by the Darshan of the Lord.If less crowded you can sit for sometime in peace or you have to move ahead to make way for other devotees.
So far most of the people feel complete by Lords Darshan. But here there are at least two more temples ie Radha Rani temple adjacent to this temple.Visit this temple too.
The second one is of Shri Bodana.A strong devotee of Lord Krishna. This is situated near to Radha Rani temple. On visiting this temple seek the guidance of local priest to narrate you the story.
If you are aware of the story then you can be in a better position to view this temple and acknowledge the presence of the things you are seeing.
In a nutshell, when Lord Krishna was compelled to leave his abode Dwarka,it was his staunch devotee who aided his move to this place. How and by what mode ,learn from the local priest. This is an interesting story.
After Darshan you can see the lake outside where people offer their religious practices. There are nearby hotels and dharamshalas for food and resting.
One more famous thing is a must at Dakor and that is 'Gota' an gujarati delicacy like bhajiyas.Any local will guide to the right place.
On our return we took a local route but that was a quite bad road.No doubt kms is less but it is advisable to take the NH and NE route to Ahmedabad.
Timings are general ie closed during noon.Sorry not able to give exact timings.May be their website can help.
Try to take part in the Aarti as per their timings and prasad can be taken there.
This can be a 8 to 10 hrs trip from Ahmedabad.
Enjoy the place and be blessed.

Pariej lake is our most favourite birding site since the last 5 years , when on one occasion , I was crisscrossing the Matar - Tarapur route documenting the beautiful butterflies and dragonflies , I came across this lake where for the first time I photographed a Pheasant tailed Jacana swiftly walking on the big leaves of water lilies . At that time I also met a Golden Oriel and Pied Kingfishers .
On our subsequent visits , I observed more birds for a couple of kilometers on the dunes , ditches and farms on both sides of the road leading to Matar . The resident birds were Black Ibis , Blyth's Reed Warbler , Comb Ducks , Common Pochard , Common Greenshank , Common Redshank , Common Teals, Coot , Cormorates , Egrates , Green Bee Eater , Indian Roller , Lapwings , Little Grebe , Open Bill Stork , Oriental White Ibis , Painted Stork , Purple Heron , Purple Moorhen , Purple Sun Bird , Sand Piper , Sarus Crane , Terns ,White Cheeked Bulbul , White Throated King Fisher , etc .
Last year we observed some new birds like Black Necked Grebe , Black Shouldered Kite , Bronze Winged Jacana , Collared Pratincole , Great Crested Grebe , Kestrel , Plover , Red Crested Pochard , Red Necked Grebe , Spoon Bill Stork , Wooly Necked Stork , etc .
This year , when we went there in January , to our delight , there were Baya Weaver , Black Headed Munia , Dalmatian Pelican , Eurasian Wigeon , Grey Leg Geese , Lesser Flamingo , Long Tailed Shrike , Red Necked Falcon , Ruddy Shel Duck , Rufus Tailed Shrike , Spotted Owlet , etc .
Forest Department had constructed an Interpretation Center , Rest House , Watch Tower , Common Wash rooms , etc . Various camps are organised by the Department . But there is no canteen . After driving 254 Km from Vadodara , a cup of tea is the least one can wish . But it seems the Department is asking the Birders : Bird and not tea is to be wished . Name a bird and see how your wish to see him is fulfilled .
In her heydays Begum Parveen Sultana took a Taan in a so high Octave that Late Appasaheb Jalgaonkar playing harmonium moved his fingers out of it to show the Taan was above Teevra Octave . If the Department would look after poor birders , then I would recommend 2 more stars to this Lake .

In 1952 Shrimad Rajchandraji wrote the legendary discourse "Shri Atmasiddhi Shastra" for the spiritual upliftment of people. It is considered as a masterpiece in philosophical literature. Through simple questions and answers Shree Rajchandraji has explained the quintessence of Jainism.
The statues of Shrimad Rajchandraji and Shri Ambalalbhai have been placed in the same posture as they were when Shri Atmasiddhi Shastra was being written
On 19th October 2013, an elegant octagonal Jalmandir was inaugurated at this holy site. In the centre of a serene lake, enhancing its beauty and sanctity is a majestic 5 foot 3 inch fibre pratimaji of Param Krupalu Dev Shrimad Rajchandraji in padmasan posture seated on a white lotus. A tree behind this pratimaji symbolises His eternal shelter to all. A walking track has been designed surrounding the Jalmandir ensuring that all those who use it, will automatically perform a pradakshina around Param Krupalu Dev. Engraved wooden panels bearing Param Krupalu Dev's quotes embellish the track.
I had visited this place few months back as I have to visit Nadiad frequently and one of my friend who follows this path had suggested me.
