The food resembles the traditional style of the Indian North-West Frontier region where clay ovens or tandoors were used. It takes a chef years of meticulous training and dedication to master the technique of making breads -which also serves as a vital part of the cuisine , and acquire the ability to gauge spices, mix marinades, and the most vital of all, to judge the heat of the tandoor and the time necessary for each dish to be perfectly cooked. The restaurant's real skill lies in its deceptively lean composition. Instead of the heavy oil and butter base you'd expect from kebabs, Peshawri's cooking is all light-touch, the selection of kebabs is not accompanied by any sauce or gravy, but only pre-marinated and cooked before serving .The vegetarian side of the menu is a delight. The famous Paneer Kurchan and Kebab with their most famous Dal Bukhara serve as fine accompaniments ensuring that the guests find pure satisfaction in every bite. Even the desserts take the same approach – instead of saccharine-soaked Gulab Jamuns, their version is light on sugar coating and syrup and heavy on creamy flavour. In an ambience reminiscent of the rustic charm of dining in the warmth of tents under a starry sky in the cold desert terrain of the North West Frontier, Peshawri brings to its guests an award winning menu of delicacies cooked in the clay tandoor. As a unique and unmatched concept, the restaurant offers a sophisticated yet totally ethnic experience where the kitchen is part of the restaurant. The decor comprises rough-hewn trestle tables and wooden stools completing the rugged look alongwith copper pots and urns that are suspended from the ceiling and pillars. While the menu is painted on a block of wood , the crockery used is earthenware in an earthy ochre colour. All along, while dining, guests are given checked aprons and are encouraged to eat with their hands to experience the food through all their senses. The checkered apron is a totally novel concept that has become very popular. The view of the kitchen with the busy chefs adds to the warmth of the restaurant, inviting one to take time off to photograph the activity inside the kitchen. The speed by which the food is cooked and delivered to the tables justifies its claim of having one of the most efficient service.
Awesome food, super service. It is ritual to come to Peshawari along with our overseas partners!! The personalised service of the Manager - Fransis makes us come to the Resturant time and again!!!????

WelcomCafe’ Cambay - Named after the Gulf of Cambay, this 24-hour restaurant celebrates the spirit of the itinerant traveller, by serving fine Indian and international cuisines round-the-clock, through its buffet and ‘a la carte offerings. It has not only the finest breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet but also the most delectable all day dining menu
When we mentioned to the hotel management about the lack of authentic international cuisine in Vadodara, the General Manager Deepender Rana suggested that they will organize Cuisine Classica, a signature ITC culinary event at the poolside of the Welcom Hotel Vadodara.
It was great fun planning the event with him and his entire F&B team. We decided to do Spanish cuisine as the city had not had a flavour of this cuisine. The menu was designed for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians and comprised of signature spanish dishes like Gazpacho, empanadas, ensalada, etc.
It was a wonderful sunny winter Saturday afternoon by the poolside and the setting was meant to replicate a Sunday Spanish family get-together with the tables decked with flowers, breads baskets and fruit and cheese platters.
Each course of the lunch was demonstrated and prepared on site so that the guests got a feel of the cooking as well. The food was plentiful and each course left us wanting for more.
It was no ordinary lunch; it was an experience which enthralled and indulged our culinary senses.A big Thank you to Deepender Rana for organizing such a lovely event for the foodies of Baroda. Hope there would be more such events!

Winner of “The Best Gujarati Restaurant”, Times Food Award. Mandap since 1974 is popular for serving homespun and authentic Gujarati Cuisine maintaining the wholesome and nutritious value. The Restaurant’s legend is the ambience as a mandap in warm and cozy atmosphere and friendly service.
A nice restaurant, neat and clean. Staff is quick and responsive. Restaurant is located on a main road and is apt to try a Gujarati meal.Traditional heavy bronze thalis were used to serve us the dinner. Its a fix meal/thali place, serving only veg. Thalis were good with plenty of choices. For those who don’t like their dal or kadhi to be sweet can opt gor punjabi dal and kadhi. Every thing is served unlimited so do not hesitate in asking for a second or third serving of anything you like.
