Crawford Lake Conservation Area

Reviewed By Lisa B - Oakville, Canada

Great for a family stroll, hike or a nice romantic walk! There's a walking trail that goes all around the lake. We saw 2-3 good size turtles swimming in the lake. Great area. Looking forward to attending again next summer. The kids really enjoyed it as well. Would be a nice place for a picnic.

Hilton Falls Conservation Area

Reviewed By Jen B - Toronto, Canada

I've been trying to get out to different conversation areas this summer and made it to Hilton Falls a few weeks ago.
I took a wrong turn but even still the hike to the falls was pretty easy (just a bit longer than planned).
For folks with kids, you could take a stroller but would need another adult to help you up/over a few parts (not hard just awkward). I carried my kiddo (she's under a year so baby wearing is still an option) and it was great for us both!
I'll be back for sure! Lots of parking and entry fee was reasonable!

Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area

Visited late November and trees were bare already but it was a beautiful hike on a sunny day nevertheless! Went on a weekday and it was quiet and provided great respite from the traffic noise. Definitely recommend visiting if you are in the area !

Springridge Farm is one of the best family spots in Ontario. Something for everyone: lots of animals, rides, and shows for the kids, great store for browsing, and an excellent variety of foods. Enjoy a coffee and one of their pies! Worth a visit.

Mountsberg Conservation Area

Reviewed By Carol B - Ontario, Canada

We were visiting Crawford Lake Conservation Area and were told by the park attendant that our admission could also be used at all Halton area parks for the same day. We decided to visit Mountsberg because it was only a few minutes away.
The birds of prey are fascinating. At least these birds are safe whereas in the wild, they would not survive. The raptor show was not available while we were there, it would have been interesting to find out more about the rehab they do for the birds.

Kelso Conservation Area

Reviewed By AmyLynn1980

Kelso beach area and boardwalk are beautiful... the constant traffic noises from 401 do detract from this significantly for a non-city dweller who is used to peace and quiet in the Wilderness! They looked to be very popular from the number of users on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Many people fishing as well.
The good news is, once taking the hiking trails into the woods, the traffic noises can no longer be heard.
We very much enjoyed hiking the Bruce Trail through this area. This was a repeat visit, and there were many more mountain bikers this time, as many of the trails are shared use. Everyone we encountered was extremely friendly and polite. Hiking here did require paying a little more attention than might be typical to ensure you were out of the way of potential bikers. If you are wanting a leisurely stroll or are hiking with a dog or children, might I suggest any number of other local fabulous sections of the Bruce Trail where the trail is earmarked for hiking only.
Great spot to spend a few hours, although there are other places I would rather choose for hiking purposes.

I was here last year and paid 5 dollars for admission fee. Now this year it is 15 dollars and charge for kids. I feel that it is too much of a hike in one year. It is a beautiful place to visit and very busy on Sunday. Parking lot was so full, and had to be guided by parking attendants. Little room for2 cars to pass each other in the entrance causing a bottleneck when getting into the parking lot.

We visited to see the RCMP Musical Ride, have lunch & play some slots. It was a weekday so did not really expect it to be too busy. But we were wrong, it was quite busy. Inside and out. Everything was fabulous. They keep the outdoors and casino area very clean and tidy. In the casino there were a few servers providing drinks to whoever wanted them. Atmosphere very friendly. We ate lunch from a food truck that was situated in the racetrack area. Food was good, portions were somewhat small unfortunately & pricey. All in all it was a great day!

Mill Pond

Reviewed By George C - Toronto, Canada

The Pond is actually surrounded by the Centennial Park, Livingston Park and Rotary Park and there is a path that goes through all these little parks. The Pond is small but it worthy of spending 20 to 30 minutes walk. Due to the limited parking space (roadside), I would suggest to park near Livingston Park at the end of Margaret Street.
