Anemurium

Es handelt sich hier umd die grosse römische Stadt Anemurium am Westende von Anamur. Bewohnt von rund 20 000 Einwohnern und eine der besterhaltenen antiken Staedte der Türkei.

If you are close to Anamur and have any interest in history you have to visit Anemurium! It is beautiful and not so touristic, this means that in a spring day you can explore the area almost by yourself. Even if youre not interested in history it's a perfect place to stroll around and if it gets to hot the sea is just a few meters away.

Caves of Heaven and Hell

Reviewed By Lanni_12 - Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Only short walk to reach Hell and it is a super huge hole in the ground, nothing special and easy. But difficult, ups-and-down, slippery, dark cave, but worthy because the Heaven cave was located in deep valley where we could find also old small church and a river under ground. The way to reach Heaven is so rich of vegetation and kind-of-forest full of trees. Good as a wake up call that I need to exercise more :-)
Sport comfortable shoes will be helpful.

Ancient city of Diocaesarea-Olba

So much to see in one location which is all listed in the title and more. One of the roman towers has been restored, so you can see the many levels and chambers in it, quite impressive compared to any others I have seen. There are also vendors/locals selling variouse items next to the ruins, so make sure to have extra Lira. A local also charged us 10 Lira to view the temple and surrounding monuments. Outside of town to the East is a large Aqua-duct If you walk past it through the canyon valley you'll discover many necropolises and sarcophagus. There looks to be a small establishment or large graveyard that is currently under restoration. When looking at this canyon on a map it is the same one that stretches for miles called Seytanderesi Canyon, the same canyon the ruins of Adamkaylar are located in located above Kizkalesi.

Mamure Kalesi

For all those who will visit Marmure castle this summer : it is closed due to renovations. You could just walk around the castle, what is still nice to do, but not the same as visiting the castle. Also look out for hasslers at the other side of the street who try told you that you an leave your car at their parking, which is free. But after your (short) visit you have to drink and eat something at their (dirty) restaurant. We just drink anything, and had to pay a very high price. You can park your car totally free before the castle, or at the overside before the old Marmure Hammam of the castle, which is more than a visit worth. A juwel, very well conserved. One of the pictures below is of the restaurant where we had to pay a high price for a few beers and a tea.

This is not a good option to visit during weekend, specially sundays,
if the weather is also fine, then it is very much better to stay away from this place due to extreme crowd making picnic all around the house.İf you have enough time, pls go and visit as early as possible.
