Know as a businessrestaurant but also a place that feels like home coming. Enjoy the french classic kitchen, with also some japanese dishes like Sushi, Sashimi and Tempura. Enjoy these Japanese dishes while your friends have a steak or stew next to you. Stop by we have our menu's translated in german, french, spanish, italian and english off course.
What I hate about this place is the bar. Whatever cozy lunch or dinner you try to have, your conversation will be disturbed by the loud opinions and latest jokes at the bar. Groups of middle-aged and middle-management men. The scenery throws you back twenty years in time. A real time machine.
What I also hate is the cupboard near the kitchen entrance, with the cutlery, napkins, menus, etc... Would be better in a mid-class roadside café in the Spanish countryside. These two aspects kill the coziness of the place in my view. The service is hesitant but efficient. We did not feel completely welcome. So many other clients to serve, you know ...
On the positive side: excellent price/quality ratio, good (but expensive!) wines, good food (salmon teriyaki!), ample parking possibilities, good location at motorway entrance ...

Traditionally I visit this restaurant for lunch on the Dutch Koningsdag. It is the living proof that location is not important when the service and quality offered is outstanding. A small farmhouse in the middle of the fields, nothing fancy, simple mostly white interior. Nothing takes the attention away from what comes on the plate and that remains outstanding. The "large" menu is not cheap (325) but is just great. Beautifully presented, mostly seafood with Anjou pigeon as the meat course. What is striking is that over time the cooking by Goosens has become much simpler with even better ingredients that sing without having to add complexity. This is a major accomplishment. Service impeccable. Outstanding winelist fairly priced. Still lunch for 3 without exaggerating on the wine 1,600 euro. Not for everyday. Until next year .

As locals we were rather disappointed after our first visit to this restaurant. Its location is very close to the railway station. It looked promising and we wanted to give it a try. But many aspects are worrying. The cold and uninterested welcome, the way they throw the (dirty)plastic menu card on the table, the interior decoration (looks like taken over from a furniture shop that went bankrupt a couple of years ago), the average food (the intestinal tract -darmkanaal- was not removed from the scampis - major error!), etc.
However, there is some potential here which is difficult to describe. Service is cramped, but you can't say they are not doing their best. I guess they are just missing an important thing here: trying to figure out what customers want and need. They can always ask us ...
We will be back in six months from now and give them a second chance ...

Today I had the pleasure to discover a new adress.
I go regularly to restaurants with customers and friends. Belgium enjoys many execllent adresses but to be honest not frequently you get the unique chance to be impressed.
But today at Berto, it was really the case. Everything was "picco bello".
Decor, colours, starters, main dishes, wine choice, ... but also the presentation, combination of colours, a real pleasure for your eyes and palate! And we order the business lunch!
Maybe one tip, prices of water and coffee are in my view totally unreasonable. Do not abuse it.
To conclude, a memorable lunch! My compliments to the whole team.

"De Houtsnip" serves exciting and outstanding Belgian Cuisine! For our family event we opted for the overall New Years lunch with the advised wines. Some of the dishes were surprising, while others were more traditional Belgian. Overall each dish was well prepared and refined and the total menu worked well. The size of the plates was just right...
This restaurant really serves value for money!

Wonderful, we came here 3 nights for dinner. The fish is wonderful; everything from the kitchen was great quality. The service is friendly and professional. A great find. We were able to arrive early for dinner; otherwise you might need a reservation. Say hello to Steve, a great waiter and nice guy.

We decided to try this restaurant based on previous reviews on Tripadvisor. Nice location and façade, warm welcome and friendly service. But the interior decoration looks disorganized and sloppy. What is this pile of newspapers doing in the middle of a room that pretends to belong to the better dining establishments in the city? The price/quality ratio is more than acceptable. But the beef tagliata (compare that with Bleu Blanc!) and the tagliatelle with scampi and green asparagus (I can cook this at home) did not completely convince us. Nor did the house wine.

L'improviste By David, Bistronomie & TeaLounge Little known, the concept "Bistronomie" is a transposition of gourmet cuisine presented in a simpler way as in a brewery. Het nog weinig gekende concept "Bistronomie" brengt de gastronomische keuken op een eenvoudige manier. TASTE OF THE DAY! From gastronomy to the Bistro through its TeaLounge, not to mention all the suggestions of David. Products of quality, finely worked. Every new season, I would suggest a new card, you could come to taste it entirely on the first Friday night of the new season in the form of walking diner.
Our experience in the restaurant 'David Selen' proves that for some chefs it doesn't matter if you come with a voucher or not - We did have bad restaurant visits with vouchers... - , you are treated like a king or queen anyway. We stayed there to enjoy the wonderful meal, to sleep in the great B & B and to delight in a gorgeous breakfast. The service was absolutely to our satisfaction. And yes, chef David Selen came to shake our hand. Did this add anything to the surprising supper we had? I must admit, no, but it counted up to the warm welcome we had from the beginning. And the end, our breakfast, was AMAZING! Who can tell he had a slice of 'truffle' in his champagne as a birthday present? Thanks for this stunning gourmet indulgence!

We were a group of nine on a warm summer day to enjoy lunch near the lakes at Waregem soccer stadium. This bistro was a nice surprise: excellent location; friendly, efficient, client-oriented service; delicious food and above all, reasonable prices. We will come back for more !
