Start walking in Maribor's oldest park with old big trees from all parts of the world. Feeding squirrels and watching kids play. If you continue with walk you will get to 3 lakes and from there there are two paths to Piramida: from the forrest or from southern side qwalking through the vineyards. Suddenly all Maribor is in your hand, if lucky with weather, you can see further on all Drava valley.

Sladolednica Lastovka / Gelateria LastovkaThe Lastovka's Mission is to make every guest smile! We do this by providing innovative ice cream flavors, exceptional customer service, and commitment to consistently offering an unparalleled store experience.Where are we? Right now there are four Lastovka stores, three of them are in Maribor and one is in Limbus, below you can see the adresses: 1. Partizanska Cesta 6, 2. Smetanova Ulica 6, 3. Trg Revolucije 9, 4. Ob Blažovnici 45a, Limbuš. When are we open? This is seasonal business, we open in the middle of March till mid October, at this period of time the shops are always open from 9 am to 22 at night. At Lastovka, we offer two types of ice cream to our customers which are hard ice cream and soft serve, all of them are made through Lastovkas traditional recipe. In each store there are always available from 20 to 24 flavors of hard ice cream, between the number of these flavors there are fruit and milk flavors and four soft serve flavors.
Even though it was a wet and cold afternoon in Maribor once we saw the colourful array of ice-cream at Lastovka near the bridge over the Drava, there was no way we could walk passed without trying.
I don't recall how many different flavours there where, maybe sixteen to twenty, but choosing was a little difficult. Fortunately the young lady serving us spoke English and suggested that we could have two half serves to make a single cone, that sounded perfect as the serving sizes were generous and gave us the opportunity to taste two flavours each. I had mango and dark chocolate with raspberry, my husband had vanilla and bounty(chocolate, vanilla and coconut). The next day we had rum punch and chocolate and Straciatella and blueberry.
These ice-creams are very well priced, rather inexpensive to other countries and well patronised by the locals.

The obvious draw here is the oldest living vine in the world (450 years!) but the tasting bar and wine shop are what we stuck around for. We had an excellent tasting with Natasia who obviously knew what she was talking about. We left very impressed with Slovenian wine and excited about the bottles we are bringing home to share with family and friends. Cool climate wine lovers will feel right at home here - don't expect any big, jammy reds: it's not their thing.

We were with a group visiting the region and couldn't miss the cable car ride up the top of the mountain. The views were fantastic from the top and there is plenty to do up there. A walk round or lunch in the lovely restaurant. Very popular with runners and cyclists. A popular ski resort in the winter too. Well worth the trip, the cable cars are easy to negotiate, my husband was reluctant because he doesn't like heights so had his back to the view, but agreed it had been well worth it.

A perfect place to spend an hour or so , just on the end of the city park. Very relaxing and cool to walk around both sides of the lakes as they are so different / one side is elevated and in the forest , and the other one is down beside the waters edge. Many benches to sit on round the lake...

If you visit Maribor you must visit Regional Museum of Maribor. Because it's a very interesting place to visit. Specially this museum is inside the Castle. Because of that you can walk through the castle while educating yourself about Maribor. Actually by looking out side of the castel you'll never realize how interesting is inside of the castle. Even it's a chapel inside. I was not a big fan of museums, but I enjoed the visit a lot.

The Cathedral is opposite a university building, so the area outside was full of students. The church is not very large, neither does it have an outstanding interior. What was interesting was the modern stained glass windows. The chapel to the left of the main altar is dedicated to Bishop Anton Slomsek, who promoted the Slovenian language when ruled by the German speaking elite

Our wine cellar is located only 3 km from Maribor. Our family is in wine- growing business for almost 40 years. For last 25 years we have specialized in production high- quality bottled wine of different grape varieties. Wine-tastings accompanied with local cuisine provides you with an interesting overview of vine-cultivation, cultural heritage and the tradition of wine production by our winery.
All the comments for this nice place are completely accurate. At only 5 minutes by car from Maribor centre you will come to this beautiful, passionately driven winery.
Damijan is undoubtedly the most knowledgeable and passionate wine host we have ever met. He explained in a fascinating way the kind of grapes and wines produced at Horvat. We tasted all the wines together and it was a great experience to listen to Damijan and his love for their wines. We even had the pleasure to greet the Big Boss (father in law), a lovely 91 years-old man who looks really much younger.
Each of the 8 wines we tasted were of absolutely great quality. We also had a delicious meal: a huge plate of sausages, cheese, vegetables and other savories accompanied with bread. Food must be ordered in advance.
We have been in many wine tasting, but none can be compared to the 3 hours exclusive experience we had at Vinogradi Hovart. They accepted our visit even in the middle of the harvest season, a clear indication of hospitality and passion to show what Horvat has to offer. Good luck with the future expansion plans Damijan, you will succeed! We will of course come back and in the meantime we will spread the word about this excellent place to all our friends, acquaintances and colleagues.
If you happen to be in Maribor, do not hesitate to visit Horvat: a pearl in wonderful Slovenia!

This mall offers many things, from restaurants, bars, tech shops and many other things. You can also leave kids in special area where can play, so you can go shopping. There is also a big parking area if you are comming with car. The mall is located near old city centre, so you can take a walk to there.
