Lorne beach is a gorgeous beach. The water is great for swimming (19 degrees - a tad cool for Queenslanders) & Surfing on the point. The mountainous views surrounding the beach are stunning. Great long stretch of sand to walk along & explore the rock pools but also the shipwreck trail parallel to the beach. My tip is to get up early & watch the sunrise over the ocean, breathtaking!

Walked the Erskine Falls walk. The track needs maintenance as there were many trees down over the track. Be mindful of the seven river crossings.

Friends recommended that we go and view Erskine Falls while we were in Lorne. It was very beautiful. 2 viewing platforms meant you could see the Waterfall from both angles.
We went down to the bottom viewing platform, you can get up pretty close here which was cool. It is quite steep with the stairs coming back up however, so i wouldn't recommend for people with any type of mobility issue!
Got some great photos, the only let down was a lot of people there at once so there was a bit of a queue to see the view!

I have driven around Europe and America and been in some pretty spectacular roads but The Great Ocean Road is tight up there with the best in the world. Pleasingly it is very well maintained and there are plenty of excellent vantage points to look at the scenery and take photos. There are also some nice places to stop for lunch and afternoon tea.

We came across sign to Sheoak Fall as we travelled the Great Ocean Road. Glad we decided to detour and have a look! A short walk long a wooden pathway leads to the falls. There was no one else there when we arrived. Very tranquil and beautiful. A lovely stop.

It is what I imagine a rich mans country retreat would look like. Great space, nice to walk around the Gardens and sculptures, has accommodation, and would be great for a group getaway (wedding, birthday). The exhibits change month to month, and we really liked what was on display, and that all the art work was priced. As per usual, the pieces we 'really' liked were overpriced. Loved how you could just wander around everywhere, inside and out. Has a cafe. Free to get in, why wouldn't you go ?

We got to see this impressive exhibition after having already travelled most of the Great Ocean Road from west to east. It provides a useful insight to its construction and the many sacrifices that were made in order to improve communication and travel along this stunning coastline.
It's all too easy to take these things for granted, so a short visit here is recommended for all fellow GOR travellers.

What a beautiful walk in the Otways to Kalimna falls. WE venture the 3.1 km walk and found the Lower falls to be incredibly beautiful. The day we walked down there had been a lot of wind and rain the days before so the track was muddy and we had to climb over a few fallen trees which just adds to the experience. Upon reaching the falls we were taken back by the location and beauty. A hidden gem and a must see in the Otways.

During the school holidays and long weekends, this place absolutely rocks! Lots of young people and families enjoying all the facilities.
The staff were fabulous, friendly and on their game when it comes to safety and pulling those over excited bunnies into line.
The pool is probably the keenest attraction and has been cleverly set up with half for swimming and play and the other half with inflatable tunnel and bumper-boats for kids to play on.
There is also a hot tub / jacuzzi but the kids seem to fill this fairly quickly. Out of season, it's easier for us adults to claim our space.
Across the road is plenty of parking, cafes & restaurants. The Lorne Sea Baths are wheelchair and disabled friendly.
Toilets onsite were very clean as were the changing rooms.
Recommend the Baths as an adjunct to the beach and all the other great activities in the area.
