Yesterday 10/10,I was at ocean course teeing off at hole 9 at Ria Bintang Golf. After I hit the ball, as I walked away from tee box. A bunch of bees started to attack me. I just couldn't get rid of them and I got stung many times even I ran more than 100 meters to the green. No doubt the staff brought me to the doctor for treatment but I want to warn future golfers to be more careful when playing there.

Not your usual plane ride! It was definitely something that I looked forward to on this particular trip to Bintan. As an aviation lover, I couldn't give this a miss. This is your chance to put yourself into one of flying seats to experience flying against the winds, have a good bird's eye view of everything below you, and also experiencing a wonderful approach to landing.
I would highly recommend every visitor to Bintan to do this activity!

This was our second stay at this resort and not much seemed to have changed. While the resort was neat and tidy it seems to be stuck in a time warp as everything is so 1990's. The staff where friendly and helpful and the facilities were well maintained. We chose this place again as the accommodation rates where quite reasonable, but that's where they get you. Anything, no EVERYTHING, you buy there is expensive. I have now paid for my first ever A$10 cup of coffee. Its a nice place but its not the sort of place I'd expect to pay those prices. In the unlikely event that I go to Bintan again, I'll be going elsewhere.

Lovely laid back resort with plenty to do... Insuring lots of nothing at all. Good restaurants and a beautiful beach. Not over developed and quiet enough to be able to get away from it all. The staff were really lovely. We had a blissful time.

Aroma River Spa, a world-class spa with local prices, is located at Mutiara Beach Resort, on Bintan's east coast. It can be visited either as a day trip out of Singapore, or as a half-day trip from any of the Bintan hotels. The spa setting is rather unique, on stilts in a mangrove river, with direct access to a private white sandy beach. After the treatment, spa guests have the possibility of enjoying a tasty local meal at the spa restaurant and some bargain shopping at the spa boutique. The spa uses exclusively Taman Sari natural products. Two-way land transfers can be arranged. Open every day, 10am till 6pm.
Don't expect luxury, but back to the basis in life... no air-conditioning, no fan, take a very short sampan ride, walk thru wooden planks, go into a hut looking into the woods, changing behind curtain, being massaged while insects buzzed around your ears, showering behind curtain and the water draining into the river below you......
This is Aroma River Spa. The De-stress River package I took up, consist of a 105 minutes body scrub and
massage. I was pampered under the soothing hands of Ida, who later showed us how to make a ketupat with ribbons.
Your simple lunch, rice with sambal chicken and fresh coconut is served under a shaded hut with grass and sand under your feet. Bring your mozzy spray or pad if you are prone to bites.
If you enjoy this type of experience, go try them out. Otherwise you'll need to consider the 50 mins ride from BBT ferry terminal, and more than S$80 after adding the ++ . But thumbs up to Marc and the staff for their service.

After celebrating NYE in Singapore, we had decided to go to Bintan for a short break to relax and unwind. We had booked villa as this lovely resort. Its just 15 minutes from the ferry terminal. We arrive at 2 pm but our villas were still not ready so they suggested that we have lunch while we were waiting. So we did that and soon afterwards we were taken to our villas. We had a one bedroom villa whereas my sisters and their husbands had chosen a 2 bedroom villa. What they didn't know was that the two bedroom villa was actually a family villa and the 2nd bedroom was meant for children !!. So the second bedroom could only be accessed through the first bedroom ! Also the tea and coffee making facilities were only in the first bedroom. Since it was only for 2 nights, they decided not to make a fuss.
We all enjoyed the Spa, which was excellent. The room service was also very good. The staff was very polite and always ready to help.
We were unlucky with the weather unfortunately. It rained almost nonstop for 2 days !
Apart from that we all enjoyed the stay.

Nirwana Gardens is a huge resort in the Lagoi area of Bintan island. It has a large number of activities, mainly centred on the Resort Center. This is a 3 minute walk from the main area of the hotel. As well as the Resort Center there is a mini zoo, a dive centre, a wonderful beach, and a couple of swimming pools.
The Resort Centre includes a set of bowling lanes. Bowling was complimentary with a stay so was a no brainer. The bowling has the occasional technical mishap with the pins but was largely fun. Worth bringing socks to avoid paying for them here. Shoe rental was fairly cheap and young children don't need socks. For young children there is a ramp to roll bowling balls down so they can join in too.
Upstairs at the Resort Center is a kids club. It is fairly expensive for what it is as it should really be compliementary. There is a large room with toys and the like inside. Activities are listed but takeup seems to be too low to so it is really just a babysitting area.
The Resort Center has a few shops for those so inclined.
There is quite an emphasis on shooting with target shooting inside the Resort Center as well as airsoft and archery outside. There is a high zipline but it isn't clear how it is accessed.
Elephant riding and pony riding are also available but only at non-advertised times. Lack of description of what is available when really hampers access and interest. A guide should be made available for those staying at the resort. Signposting is also poor.
Entering the Resort Center means walking through a seemingly disused sports hall. It is clearly not well kept and is a bit of an odd entrance.
The main resort area contains the free to air activities such as swimming pools and the beach. The beach is fabulous with wonderful white powdery sand kept so well as it is a rare example of a clean beach. The water is clear with small fish easily viewable.
The main swimming pool has about half a dozen sections of various depths, with some having jaccuzzi style jets. This is the most popular area of the resort. There is also a two-part swimming pool at the Banyu Biru area.
The Mini Zoo is not signposted well but is just beyond the carpark. It contains some cold blooded animals such as turtles, snakes, and crocodiles as well as a few birds. Aside from a lonely looking parakeet the animals generally seem to be in good condition.
There are lots of things to do at Nirwana Gardens. They are not advertised or well signposted but are worth finding for those staying at the resort.

despite its advertisement that the course was completely renovated over the last two years, its in a terrible state! fairways and greens are infested with the black fungus! almost impossible to eradicate without ripping the whole soil out...
staff is most friendly, but that does not make up for the dilapidated state of the course...

it costed $25 for adults and 20 for children. The simple cruise is about 45 minutes.
The horrible thing is the smell of the wasted gas was so strong. It made me feel unable to breathe.
There are some fireflying. not too many but they are some. The ppl driving the boat does not have a sense of responsibility and care towards the environment and insects. They catch them for the tourist!
Can not believe it!
soso experience in.general!
