This is a very wide stretch of sand with car parking right on the beach. There is plenty of room for all visitors to find their own patch of sand. Not many facilities along it but 1 or 2.

Village Medieval de Pals

Reviewed By gaiteiro - Auckland

The week after a bunch of public holidays in winter is probably a good time to visit somewhere like Pals. The maze of cobbled streets were almost deserted, and everything except the church was closed (and we only just managed to get in there before someone came to lock it). It feels very untouched by the modern world, and we easily spent two hours exploring all the little alleyways and staircases. Living in NZ, historical stuff is what we miss, and Pals gave it to us in spades.

Ruines d'Empuries

The ruins of a Greek city settled from about 400BC and the later Roman city slightly inland settled in about 200BC after the Punic War. The ruins are ruins but they are well laid out and there is an excellent audioguide which brings the place alive and makes it a most interesting visit. There is a museum which houses the statue of Asklepios, the Greek god of medicine as seen in the picture above. Well worth the 2 to 3 hours, although I guess you would need some interest in history to enjoy it.

One of the most beautiful Beaches @ the Costa Brava. Little town, beautiful sunset, little shops. Don't go to the restaurants, they look nice but they're expensive and food isn't great. Go early because finding parking is a full time job. Oh, don't forget your camera.

We're a pair of pensioners and have had several visits here to use Segways, both on our own and with grandchildren. Each time we booked a one-hour session. Safety is high on the agenda but it does not detract from the enjoyment. Initial training is on-site around their own course, the the leader took us across country to Gualta, a local village. It was charming that in a local resort, our instructor from earlier in the day recognised our grandson and let him have a go on a smaller and lighter version. Thanks Julia.

Great (incredible) location but needs some more attention to overall maintenance. A few massive mid range restaurants and some housing that could be better taken care and made more attractive. It is not bad, but it could be great with some more attention to detail and investment, given the gem it actually is.

We loved cala montgo, the right combination of beautiful cove, lovely sand, shallow water and plenty of cafes and bars without it being too overrun. There's pedalos and sunbed hire, but its all quite low key. Lovely for all ages! And theres parking not far.
