Would you like to have private tourist service (guide) in the National park Bohemina Saxon Switzerland? I will recommend tours (by bike, by walk, by car, by train, by boat). I can help you travel from Prague, Dresden, Decin or other part the Czech Republic to National park Bohemia Saxon Switzerland. I speak English.
We thought we were going to have a private tour, as the title was "Private tour National park Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland from Prague", which included a stop in Dresden, but it turned out that two more people were part of this "private" tour. I sat in the front with Ales the guide and my companion and the two other people sat at the back seat of the car.
Ales, the guide, was friendly, took us for lunch in a non-touristy restaurant in a village. The food was economical and ok. Hiking took place as advertised. Ales did not rush us, but the entire experience would had been better, had the tour been really private as advertised and not shared.
Be warned that this is not a day tour for anyone having mobility issues.
We booked this trip through Viator rather than directly with Guide Bohemian Switzerland and Viator mentions this particular trip as private, as there is another one that is not private. The 2 people who were added to it booked it through Choose your own guide and I wonder whether there it also said it would be private. Could it be that Ales just decided to have this shared tour to double his income that day?
Sure the outcome of the tour was still the same as far as everyone seeing what it was promised, but my companion had to endure Seating uncomfortably at the back seat crumped up for hours. We also heard at a certain point the wife of the couple complaining about not having enough space.
Private means private and we paid accordingly and expected it to be so. Therefore, if you choose the private tour, you'd better ascertain for sure that it is going to be so and not added with others booking through other sites!

Visitors receive leaflets as a guide with all the details on the buildings and objects of art. You can follow at your own pace and spend as much time as you want. There are still parts needing reconstruction.

We had a great stay (5 nights) in this cottage. Aleš a really helpful, welcoming host. He reserved bikes for our stay, gave us loads of great tips for where to walk or cycle, and even drove us to the starting points for our walks/rides on a couple of days. The apartment is simple but it was clean, cheap and perfect for us. There is a lovely garden with a bench and table where you can sit in the evening sun, and a very friendly dog!

We really didn't know a great deal about this national park, but we ended up riding through it over two days of our bike ride. However, we did visit the superb national park information centre and were completely impressed by the quality of presentation and information on lots of aspects of the park, including lots in English in a written guide and films. Certainly, it has inspired us to come back to hike in and explore this amazing region. Certainly the scenery we saw from our bikes was spectacular.

We parked right next to the red trail at Hrensko to begin the ascent. It's quite a rocky trail but you will find it all worthwhile once you reach the arch. Had delicious beef dish for lunch at the restaurant right next to the arch. It was not expensive. You don't want to miss the staircase going up to the most stunning panoramic view of the arch and the surroundings.

We thought it would contain information and content from the nature of the area. But it is only 2 small rooms with children explore walls. It is not clear from the advertisement that its for children. But offcourse we dont speak the language so we could be wrong.

Saunstejn castle can offer pretty spectacular views, especially sunsets are amazing from there. It's easy to reach from a parking lot, 20 mins walking maximum. Compared to other touristy sites in Bohemian Switzerland this one stays quite off beaten trail and late in the day you can be lucky enough to be there even alone. This is must for all rock clumbers, viewpoint lovers and people looking for a tranquility site.
