Kings Beach has it all! Safe, lifeguard patrolled beach for swimmers and surfers, broad areas of sand which are brilliant for walkers, rock wall, lovely cafes right near the water..... On the day we visited, dozens of kite surfers brightened up the sky with their colourful canopies dancing above the waves. Just magical!

Have an adventure or new experience by hiring Kayaks, Stand-up Paddleboards, Catamarans and Windsurfers on the Esplanade at Golden Beach. Cross the Pumicestone Passage in just minutes to the surrounds of Bribie Island National Park and feel like you are on a secluded island just a few hundred meters away from the heart of Caloundra and Golden Beach. The helpful staff are ready to help you with free instruction to get you out and enjoying the water in a safe and fun manner. Bookings are essential, open or on-call from 7am to 4pm on weekends and school holidays, normally weekdays by appointment only. Open during 9 month season from September to May, closed for winter in June, July and August. All hires are weather permitting, must close in 15 knot winds or higher for safety reasons.
We hired a double kayak for $20 for one hour. This was great value compared to places we have seen in other areas. We found the one hour hire was enough as beginners but we could have extended for $15/hr thereafter. This area is perfect for kayaking especially during low tide to allow you to explore the sandbanks. We kayaked for a while and beached the kayak on a huge sandbank to explore by foot. Awesome fun!

I walk to and from this lighthouse every afternoon. Magical view across the ocean. This is often enhanced by a marvellous vista of cargo ships passing by. If you are lucky, you may even have the benefit of spotting a cruise liner, as has been my fortune this fortnight on more than one occasion.

I did a long walk from my holiday unit at the Esplanade on Kings Beach to Lake Currimundi on a friend's recommendation. I was not disappointed. I bought food from a local cafe on the beach, then enjoyed a picnic lunch, a swim on the relatively placid and calm beach and enjoyed some time in the late autumn Sunshine. It was a most enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. Highly recommended!

What a great beach, patrolled. Great for families with small children, no big waves, lovely grassed areas and under cover table and seats. And a great shower area to wash away the sand

Experience and Explore the Pumicestone Passage and the Nth tip of Bribie Island - only accessable via powered/non-powered vessels and we have Pontoon Boats, 1/2 cabin boat and tinnies, Bikes (2 wheel and 4 wheel), Kayaks and Stand Up Paddle Board Hire.
This was by far the best day of our holiday thanks to Bills Boat hire. Very friendly staff and great trip on 10 seat pontoon boat. Boat worked great and provided a great platform for our day and exploration round the area. By far a better place to explore with a better boat than in Noosa and that was still a great experience. We booked to go again but due to a rainy afternoon had to cancel for a more indoor orientated activity. Again the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating of our change in plans. If you visit Coloundra you have to make a trip to Bills Boat and bike hire!!!

I dived here shortly after the Brisbane was purpose-sunk, and dived it again recently with Sunreef. Amazing dive. Great to see how the sealife has made the wreck its home. Lion fish, grouper, Nudibranchs, anemone fish ...... Great visibility on my dives, and a reasonable current. The wreck is easy to penetrate, with nice wide openings. A really great experience.
